overnight shipping BUT you must follow their rule of ordering on the VIP page...If you fail to order on their page, it is your fault and not Zappos...&#060;br /&#062;
No disrespect...as the OP said...real world rules...

Zappos is a company, and that company needs to make money, just because you forget to use the free service they offer to you does not mean you have to feel at an inconvenience. &#060;p&#062;I actually totally agree with you that it is lame they can't just make a note on your account to give VIP status and free overnight shipping. It is sort of nonsensical if they actually wanted you to get the discount every time; however, I think they are relying on some people forgetting so they don't have to pay for it.

I am just annoyed that no one mentioned that when I signed up, and now when I use the regular website, I lose the automatic upgrade. So essentially VIP status offers no benefits to a regular customer--except that there is an extra step you need to remember. In my book that's a drawback and not a benefit. I know it's &#034;easy,&#034; but I'm human and I might forget. I don't think I should be penalized for that.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;I don't *think* they have done away with the free overnight shipping for regular customers. At least they didn't a few weeks ago.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;I'm sure I'll be in the minority on this since everyone loves Zappos but it frustrates me. I keep going back because they have so much variety and I did appreciate them letting me return a pair of used shoes. I guess I just prefer a more intuitive and upfront service.

&#060;p&#062;I'm not exactly sure how it is a &#034;ripoff&#034; though, even with your frustrating experiences. I mean, it's free. All you have to do is sign in via vip.zappos.com. It's not like you have to pay or do anything very special or difficult to get VIP status. &#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;With regards to their shipping upgrades on regular orders, who knows what their policy is now. In this economy I wouldn't be surprised if even Zappos has had to take it down a notch on all the free upgrades. Not offering it definitely saves them money. Even with big bulk shipping deals as they have with UPS, overnight shipping is expensive.

				<description>&#060;p&#062;Last time I made a call to Zappos customer service, they asked if I wanted to join their VIP program. They said it would always guarantee free overnight shipping. So even though I always end up being upgraded to free overnight shipping from them, I signed up to secure it, if that makes sense.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;Well the last order I placed was given regular standard shipping. Since I wanted it delivered on Monday, I canceled. Then I placed another order, and again it was given regular shipping, so I called about it and they said I had to remember to sign into the Zappos VIP site every time I want to place an order with overnight shipping. If I forget to do that, my order is given standard shipping and I no longer get the automatic upgrade. The first time I called customer service and they asked me if I wanted to sign up, they never mentioned this to me.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;I know it seems like a small thing, but I do feel sort of scammed by a so-called service-oriented company. Have they stopped doing automatic shipping upgrades for regular customers? If not, VIP just seems like a ripoff.
