I think they're really pretty.

On a personal level, I find these styles very hard to wear. They seem too "ladylike" for my personal style and are difficult on my body type -- too much emphasis on the lower half, and tough because they seem to require a tucked top, which is tricky on my short-torsoed self. So I admire from afar.

Really pretty, but I find this style difficult to wear. Your idea of not tucking works I think, but will take more effort. I do not tuck either, so I find skirts tricky. Please share once you do try them.

I adore this style of skirt! I find them tricky to style, though, because I have a rectangle shape (thick waist) and they can make me appear larger if I'm not careful. On me, they look best with a tucked or cropped top which gives the appearance of my waist being smaller than the rest of me. #3 is my favorite.

I have a few skirts like this that survived my wardrobe purge. I feel good in this style but I have to take care with shoes and top or the skirt can look dowdy.

For shoes I wear either pointed toe flats with a low vamp or a heel. I find a more delicate style works best for me.

For me, tops have to be tucked or cropped. I have a very short fitted jacket that looks good too.

I love tea length like #2. And the black bow shirt. But I am trying to control my bow behavior... Sorry, digressed!

I second the love for this style. To my eye, it looks sophisticated. You can dress it up or down quite easily.

I personally love this style. I own at least a skirt like these right now, but want to add more. The footwear choice is a bit tricky, because I find that a shoe that elongates the leg looks better. But I have seen this style of skirts in shops paired with low heeled booties (not my style, to tell the truth).
I like how you intend to wear them.
In the first pic I can see the skirt sits a bit below the model's waist. I like this, I think it's more flattering and looks better with longer untucked tops.

these photos are from my e-mail from Nordstroms this AM-spice up your winter wardrobe. some are long but most are midi-some called tea length. photos 1 and 2 are the type of skirts. photos 3 and 4 are ideas about how I would style them-not with a tucked in top. 3 is a short jacket, and 4 is a longer more fitted top. I may either order a skirt and try it with some tops I have or see if I can find them in a store and try first. This is a style I want to try for some of my dressier functions this spring, and maybe a lighter color or print is summer if this style suits me. I do not have a small waist so maybe something like this will work.
