There are some looks that I enjoy seeing on others but can't or won't wear myself.

For me, I am on board with leather amd printed/pattern bottoms.

No's for me include peplum, barely there sandals, plaid, cropped tops and wedge sneakers.

I hope plaid and leather trim/mixed media sticks around for a while, as I bought all three this fall and want to wear them a lot more. I'm too old and too not-thin-enough to wear crop tops myself, although I think they can look fabulous with a full skirt or other contrasting bottoms. My feet hurt if I even think about wearing barely there sandals. I like how peplum looks on some people but definitely don't need any emphasis on my own hips. Interesting skirts...meh from me. I would find skirts interesting if hemlines became longer again!

I always wear and love printed and plaid pants, love mixed media, and wedge sneakers. Peplums and barely there heels feel a little more bombshell than I aim for.

What a fun topic! Hmm. I have no use for barely there sandals and didn't even know it was a thing. Crop tops and interesting skirts were also non-starters for me. A boxy, crop top sweater I might consider.

Peplums are 2012 to me and I've since gone tougher, I think (in my usual delusional way), so am not reaching for my one peplum top.

My yes's are printed bottoms and leather / mixed-media (I'm still jazzing on mixed-media more than is seemly). I'm also for wedge sneakers and plaid. BUT I haven't much occasion for the wedge sneakers and want to say red plaids I'm totally sour on and only my printed jeans work for winter (I've got a number of things sitting it out on the shelf because of the season).

Also, come spring, sorry peeps - I will be back in hi-low hems. I hear it's over, but I like it.

I only just got in on the printed skirt thing, so I hope it stays awhile. The printed pants are harder to wear, so it won't kill me for them to fade, but colored jeans and pants, especially deep colors, are really fun and add a lot of interest, though I haven't found "mine" yet, so it may pass me by.
I
'd like some of the metallic footwear trend to stick around because I'm still looking for something in that vein for everyday and for dressy--I guess some of it is always in style, but perhaps tricky to have the correct modern version.
I like many of the leather-trimmed items so that'd be fine to stick around.

Hmm. I bought a couple of peplums in 2012 and one in 2013. They have to hit in exactly the right place to look good, so I think that aspect will limit the popularity of this look. Also, layering a jacket on top is a little tricky.

With aging Baby Boomers and Americans in general trending toward being overweight, I can't imagine that cropped tops will be as popular this time around as it was in the '80s. Just not a great look for most women. I, personally, like high-waisted skirts and pants because that is where I am smallest, but realize that I am in the minority. This means that I will be able to pick up high-waisted items on deep discount -- like my all leather skirt for 60% off!

I haven't seen nearly enough plaid in petite sizes, much less petite plaid flannel shirts, so I am hoping that this trend is around for awhile.

Leather/pleather: I feel like this trend is peaking or just peaked, as it seems to be everywhere. And if I just bought a pleather skirt and then a leather one, then it MUST have peaked as I am not exactly trendy.

Printed bottoms: I did this in 2012 and some in 2013; I like it as a change from printed tops. Hope this stays!

Wedge sneakers and barely there sandals: My cold fussy feet can't do either, but since many women find wedge sneakers comfy and love the boost in height, I imagine that they will be around for awhile. Plus, I'm seeing a lot of copycats in this style. I guess bare sandals will work for those who don't take public transportation or do a lot of walking.

Interesting skirts: Why not? But maybe finding appropriate toppers would be a challenge?

Without generating 'clicks' on the links, off the top of my head I love mixed media, silver sci-fi, studded and spiked shoes, and leather paneling in all kinds of items, but jeans especially. Guess that would be included in mixed media . . . lol. I had a peplum and loved it in theory, but not on my short waisted, high hip 'shelf'.

I like plaid and leather and interesting bottoms and skirts I'm not a big fan of wedge sneakers, crop tops and peplums, and I'm ambivalent on barely there sandals (I doubt I'll wear them - I didn't this year). So I guess I'm hoping some of these stay around a big longer

Peplums - The right peplum would look really good on me, so I hope this one stays around long enough for me to score.
Crop tops - as others have stated, not modest.
Plaid - I would love to find a red plaid skirt.
Leather - not for me.
Printed bottoms - the right printed skirt is always welcome.
Interesting skirts - no thanks.
Wedge sneakers - never tried.
Barely there sandals - cute, but not for me.

peplums only look good if you are tall and thin, crop tops only if you have a nice mid section, wedge sneakers are Ok, but for me seems stupid, as sneakers are for lots of walking, very casual dressing, running around doing errands, riding a bike, etc. so need to be practical and flat. See no point in them as there are so many cute shoes, booties, etc. with higher heels and wedges to wear instead. Printed bottoms, be it skirts, shorts or pants are a nice way to be colorful and can be fun.

Well.. I am doing my 2014 planning so this is a timely post.

Yay (for me): Barely there sandals, printed bottoms (just ordered 4 printed skinnys after realizing I never wear my skirts in the winter and I was feeling bored with jeans everyday -- they havent arrived yet but hope 1 or 2 will work), plaid, interesting skirt hems (but I take them longer than those Zara ones!) I hope these will continue (of course...)

Not so much: peplum tops, crop tops, wedge sneakers. I'd love to make the leather look work for me but outside of a great jacket it feels off... (I do have 4 leather jackets though) I really need to figure that disconnect out as I am drawn to more avant garde and mixed media things...

Great thoughts for planning here!

I like cropped tops because of my short waist, my mid-drift doesn't show unless I raise my arms.
Printed bottoms are great but I do have trouble making them work because so many of my tops are printed.
The only one of these that I don't like much is the peplum top.

i'm hoping cropped tops are short lived, so few of us can wear this look successfully .
interesting skirts --that trend hasn't seemed to make any traction here, but even if/when it does, this will be a pass for me.
the 2 i hope stick for a while longer are printed bottoms and leather looks. love them both.

I love peplums, but agree they don't flatter everyone.

I hate crop tops; just don't look modest on anyone.

I hope colored jeans are here to stay.

I like the sandals, but my ankles and bunions don't, so I have to skip those entirely.

I don't wear plaid because it's never matched properly at the side seams, which drives me crazy because it looks cheap. I'm sure it's because manufacturers don't want to use the extra fabric necessary to do it right. They probably figure no one will notice. Well, I notice! My mother used to meticulously match up plaids and stripes, and that's the type of attention to detail I've come to expect.

Just starting to see the plaid in mainstream, though the leather look/mixed media has been going strong (and is a personal fave). I think these two trends have legs in my community anyway.

Peplums have been around for more than a year, and I've only just picked up one. Not seeing bare midriff much, but up here it would be strictly warm weather/summer as are sandals. Printed bottoms are in store still, but I'm not seeing it in my set. Maybe younger folks?

Coloured jeans still popular. Folks are holding on to the skinny leg trend. Never saw wedge sneakers in the northern communities I frequent, but did see it in Toronto when visiting.

Lukewarm: Peplums and Plaid. I want to love peplums...but on me, it's like I have a second set of bosoms on the opposite side of my waist. Or I look like a lampshade. Take your pick. I really like plaid, but it doesn't quite fit in somehow, with the bright natural palettes of Florida and Atlanta in Fall and Winter - except for a small window of time, like, half of November + December.

Meh/Bleh: Printed bottoms, interesting skirts, wedge sneakers. I tried the first two, and didn't care for either. They went off to my niece, who was thrilled :) I tried on wedge sneakers once at a store, and it was like all colour and joy got sucked out of the room. But I do see those as being here to stay, because everyone I know who wears them, loves them.

Well, two that I wouldn't mind NOT seeing any more of are peplums and crop tops!
Peplums l guess look OK on the right person (not on me), but crop tops just seem half-dressed and immodest to me other than at the beach or in really casual settings. (Probably showing my age, here!)

I've enjoyed all the leather looks and would be glad to see that trend continue. And I'm just warming up to plaids after having had a poison eye for them for a long time.
