I mainly dress for work in a corporate way, but usually colourful and less conservative than my peers. I am pretty consistent in that in my casual life, tending to be more dressy than most. I’ve loved saris ever since I was 10 years old. My favorite neighbors were Indian and I loved going into their house and smelling the spices when Mrs. D cooked, and her saris were my introduction to the style. In 6th grade, as part of our social studies unit on various cultures, we had India day and I was so excited I got to wear a sari. </p> <p>I don’t think I have a style after ego — I kind of already incorporate my shadow styles into my dressing. This has meant lots of things- connecting with the community, attending mosque more, coordinating and event planning - and also dressing up more.</p> <p>I haven’t worn saris in years, but I decided to start pulling them out for this monthly festival. Some of them are from my wedding trousseau, some have been bought over the years, and some thrifted. But I love wearing them- the feel of the fabric and the intricate designs make me feel as though I’m wearing a piece of art. My mum and I spend hours trying them on and deciding on the right one over multiple cups of tea :)</p> <p>How about you? Do you have another side of your life that you dress for?
