I like sneakers from The Greats....The Royale and Eco are my favorites.

https://www.greats.com/product.....nco-womens

I also like Ecco Soft 7’s which seem very popular with YLF. To fit my foot I need to purchase up a full size and add a full length arch support.

Finally, I used to love Aasics Nimbus for running, but I started to develop too many blisters when wearing them because they changed the design. Now I wear New Balance Fresh Form 1080’s.

A true test of sneakers for me is whether my feet stay comfy and pain free after a long walk. I have several sneakers that I can only wear for work, when I know I will not be walking.

Classic Vans which can feel comfy for a short time but do not offer enough support for my feet.

Cole Haan Grand Pro sneakers also not good for walking long distances. Paul Green sneakers. Both of these are better than the Vans but still not good for long walks.

High-five Janet and Suz! Yep, I am definitely a supinator - you should see my ancient Frye riding boots! They look like they were worn by a bow-legged cowboy! ;)

I tried and did not like the Ecco 7s. Too rigid or heavy or... something... My feet are not unusually large, but they felt clunky - like I was wearing clown shoes.

I wear sneakers ALL the time.

Sneakers are the only shoes on my feet for the last 5 months. Even at home, I wear at-home-only sneakers. Slippers occasionally, and sandals exactly once.

I don't wear athletic sneakers. No need. I'm far from athletic! My sneakers err on the pretty side, and I wear them with everything.

HUGE ECCO fan that I doctor with 2 sets of insoles

HUGE Chucks hi-top fan, but ONLY leather - no canvas, and preferably fleece lined. Also doctored with insoles to fit.

I like Paul Green and SAS (need narrow width)

Lucked out with DV and Steve Madden too

I have some classic white reebok, which I love. They go in the washing machine every couple of weeks and look super white when they come out.

I did buy some really pretty Timberlands, but they kidded me that they were comfy and they still rub on my heel after may days of wear, secret and not so secret socks and all sorts of other tricks. Boo!

Lovely to see everyones collections.

I have built up a sneaker collection over the past two years. I haven't figured out why, but sneakers are not always comfortable for me. The best so far, I hate to say, is Golden Goose (consignment bonanza). The built in heel cushions my heel and my toes don't crunch forward.

I’m a pronator, and for long walks/runs I wear a stability shoe, currently the Brooks Adrenaline.
My favorite casual sneakers are fine for being all my feet all day, Converse low tops and Adidas Superstars. I find the Superstars very comfy but some people might find the soles to be too stiff. I’ve had zero problems. I have low volume feet, low arches.

Another vote for Ecco, especially soft 7 model. Just looking to add more to my collection for fall. I tried hard to love Converse, but even with different insoles they were never that comfortable and will not buy them again. I even suspect that my foot issue last year was caused by them. I also don’t like high tops and still prefer booties in winter.

Definitely Eccos! I have black and white high tops, and the newest low Flexures that I have raved about elsewhere. I have two pairs of Naturalizers, but they just don't feel quite as good on my feet for long walks. I am wearing out my two year old white perforated Borns (so good in the summer), and I haven't liked their newer styles enough to try them.

I am hoping the new Ted Bakers work out really well. I can't warm to the chunky Dad sneakers, although they look super comfy. Maybe next year.

Hoka One One for my 3+ miles of daily fitness walks. I add a superfeet insole for a bit of stability and they are fabulous. I was introduced to this brand when I had a fitting at a running gear store a few years ago (when I did a bit of running), and I have never looked back.

Ecco: a few different fashion sneakers, and the high tops which are my favorite winter everyday booties for out and about

Merrill: this is my go-to for all kinds of hiking boots, winter snow boots, etc, but these "hiking shoes" were a big disappointment because the leather is too soft. My foot and ankle wobble around when I wear them on trails. As regular sneakers they are fine but I didn't want them for that and am looking for replacements.

Naturalizer: these are wonderful as all around sneakers, although I have not worn them out of the house much. I need to add an insole oto most Naturalizer shoes but not these.

Trask: (the find says "TMAS" but the brand is Trask). Super comfortable but just a bit heavy which feels odd.

Sofft: Great all around, but if I ever get another pair of this brand I'll size up so I can add an insole. They are not padded enough for very much walking at least not for my feet.

I discovered Taos sandals this summer and will include the brand in any future sneaker shopping.

And the All-stars: Clarks Aritsan line (no longer made) that are over 10 years old. These saved my feet on a trip to London where I walked too many hours one day in Ugg snow boots (styled like LLBean hunting boots but WITH a fair amount of support) and developed plantar fasciitis. If I had not had the Clark's with me I would have needed a wheelchair to get around the last few days :-). Keeping them until I can find something in a similar vibe that works as well.

My sneaker are first purchased for their intended purpose-So I have Ahnu waterproof hikers-red , so colorwise I wish they were more neutral, but love them. Waterproof mid rise black keds. These are super cumfy
and they are multipurpose. Ecco light grey purchased for gym shoes only. Now that I am not going to the gym they do not get worn. They are super comfy, but have little other use as they get dirty too easily.
Ones I do not like are Under Armour running shoes-hard on toes for the run and stopmovements for agility shoes---and Blowfish slip on leopard fashion sneakers-they are OK but cheap and the stitching is coming out -cute though..
All time faves in various kind are Sketchers. Vionic grey suade-ok but also get dirty too easily.
Not liking mesh type for cooler weather as air goes thru them--
Another kind I will avoid in the future are the ones with attached tongues.
All time best for me are Kswiss white court sneakers-originally purchased for wood floor indoor pickleball-but are now worn as fashion sneakers.
This winter will
be getting another pair of multipurpose ones-so will look for trail hikers. Not as easy to find in just plain dark colors though. Trail hikers are great as they have such good traction. I do not actually do much running any more, but trail runners are super for lots of walking anywhere from streets to dirt trails.

I “discovered” Brooks recently as run/ walk shoes that fit me better than other brands. Even got one in W which I’ve never one before, to ensure no pinching with thicker socks.

For the “sneakers with nicer clothes “ look, I prefer lower- profile shoes and without the running shoe “ snout” toe and strip of rubber at the tip. But I fell for some Nike Quest 2 in blue/black.

For the lower profile/ less chunky sole, Have had good luck with some Seibel flat sneakers, which makes no sense because they run wide through heel, but the forefoot fits. But my off- white style is getting pinchy.
The Eccos proved too ? flat through the toe unless I sized up to much.

I am going to have to do some serious sneaker capsule planning to focus on strategic styles and colors that will be super comfortable but versatile with the types of pants I will be wearing now.

It's been too hot here to even think about sneakers. But today it's finally not going to get above 80 (although it's rainy, so that's the trade off), and I have an errand to do, so I'm going to wear a pair of sneakers for a change of pace.

I like the Naturalizer Macayla enough that I duplicated them in rose gold to replace my old battered rose gold Dolce Vitas (those are going to the ranch). I bought them back in, what, February? but with the pandemic and the hot summer we've had, I actually have not even worn them yet! So I think they need an outing today, at last. The Adidas were a surprise pick that I snagged on deep sale at the Rack last year, to try out white sneakers, and I ended up liking them. And my old Cole Haan Grandpro's are looking a little bit worse for the wear but they're sneakers, right? So they'll suffice for my silver sneakers for now.

And in cooler weather, the Converse sneaker-boots are faves. I can walk around all day in those in full comfort.

As for true gear/exercise sneakers... Brooks Ghost are my favorite running/workout shoes, and I'm now looking for a proper replacement for my lightweight hiking shoes (actually trail runners) -- I'm on my second pair of Saucony's in as many years, and the last pair I bought in December. On our camping trip last week, they busted through the fabric on the side, same spot my old ones did. So even though they are super comfortable and have the right fit for me, I think I need to find a more sturdy pair of lightweight hikers. My Merrells are kind of worn out too. And my heavier hiking boots (La Sportiva) seem to cause my left foot to cramp up under the ball of the foot after a couple of miles. I don't understand it, and they are good boots otherwise, but I think I might need to replace those too. I'm under a bit of pressure, time wise, because we plan to hit the road in a couple of weeks on a long camping trip with plenty of hiking. I just ordered a couple of pairs of lightweight hikers from Zappos to try, so we'll see how that goes. Ordering from REI takes longer. Shoe shopping online is a PITA!

ECCO sneakers are my favorite, probably Soft 7, but mine are several years old in a silver metallic. I also like Merrell and A&G but both are also several years old. Try on several brands, if you can. Some like Nike do not work with arch placement for me, but that is the same with Sketchers and Clark’s And other “comfort” shoes, in any shoe. Be sure to test any shoe with walking fast and for a few hours inside before committing . Some, like Sketchers, can feel like walking on clouds at first then turn into a nightmare of pain if all is not aligned correctly.. Like most shoes, there is no universal comfort.
For running around town - Seibels

I have others, but these 3 pairs are off the charts in # of wears.

ECCO Soft 7 woven slip-on sneaker in metallic, Josef Siebel Viola 09 sneaker ( old model from the Rack - metallic again ), some more ECCO sneakers in black and Merrell Mix Master 3 trail-running shoes for hiking.
Some ECCO shoes work for my high arched feet and some need insoles. The latest addition is ECCO Soft 7 in Marigold that I still contemplating - its a bit too warm and thick compare to the woven
Soft 7.

These, and 3 more pairs, pale gray, pale pink and olive green. I guess I don’t wear them out fast because I have so many. I wear them all pretty equally, except the pale gray ones which I just bought in early March and haven’t been going anywhere significant enough for new shoes since then.

New Balance stability sneakers have been my go-to, but they’ve made some
changes and I haven’t tried the new model. I used to like their fashion-y cheaper ones too, but the last two pairs were so uncomfortable I tossed them. I replaced them with Asics, which is not the most comfortable for me, but they’re ok.

I have two pairs of fashion sneakers and two pairs of running/ gym sneakers.

The ASICS shown are my older pair that I mostly wear biking or gardening etc but my newer pair are the same but a newer model.

I like both the All Birds ( tree runner) and Diadora. The Diadora were purchased in Italy so have good associations. Both are comfy for city walking etc but not good for trails.

I am thinking most of my spring summer budget will go to footwear and sunglasses, with a couple of essential replacements. And one new dress!!

I love sneakers!
Currently I wear Asics a lot (super comfortable, and all I could wear when I had bad plantar fasciitis).
I wear these mauve Dr Scholl's occasionally to mix things up, with my own inserts.
And I also just bought these blue and pink ones from Gola- so far they are great, very comfortable and I like the retro look.

I have narrow heels, a wide forefoot and arthritis in both big toes. My favorite athletic sneakers are Hoka One One and Altra. They don't rate very high on the style scale but they're podiatrist recommended and comfortable. I'm also a big fan of Ted Baker sneakers and Adidas Ortholite Float sneakers. They rate high for comfort and durability.

All Stars with added insoles are my long-standing favorites.

I had a pair of Adidas Gazelles that never were comfortable (and felt cheaply made) and my Jack Purcells are too wide in the heel. I have Vans on my list next!

Nemosmom -- high fiving another supinator. Well, not that it's a good thing. It's just that most people seem to do the opposite. I like Asics and Brooks for actual running, too.

I must be a strange one. Even with various insoles, fashion sneakers are not my first choice for comfort. But with insoles, I can manage them pretty well. So far, my favourites have been Eccos. Both for durability and comfort. The 7s work better for me than the 8s but the 8s can fit a more substantial insole and are a bit more covered for cooler weather.

I have the platform Cons but as Angie's sad experience demonstrated, they're not as stable and have a slippy sole. So they're more a fashion statement kind of thing -- I expect I may pass them on now that I'm in my new home, because the ground I walk on is more irregular (no sidewalks, often paths).
