Love the color of the third one, but understand about the pocket! I reject tops with breast pockets outright. I like the drape of 5 but would prefer a different neckline.

Not too loose and not tight is my choice for summers. Though I love V-shape and half sleeve ones but sometimes, full sleeves also give good vibes.

Similarly, boat-neck tees also look trendy. By the way, these days, I am willing to do shopping for winter.

Great to see those photos.

You suit the open neck ones - 2 is the only one I don't like on you. What we can't see easily is the quality of course and it sounds like on that front 1 is the winner!! It does suit you really well.

I agree sleeves are tricky!!

My favourite short sleeve tees are below.

The black has longer sleeves but they work because it has the low scoop neck. The stripe is a little higher necked than I would like but I love the colours of the stripes. The dark navy is just a very good basic tee and a nice thick cotton that holds its shape nicely.

I will be looking for two new tees in a couple of months when the weather warms (I am Southern Hemisphere) - my black tee is showing a lot of wear, and I want a cream or ivory one with a logo or stripe...

this is a very timely topic for me too--checking out all the links with interest! I run hot these days, and have been in T-s nearly every day. Old vintage ones for working in the yard, and lighter weight ones for daily wear. Im very hard on them, so the super soft dressier linen-Tees many retailers have I have found too fragile

Ironically on of my Fav graphic Tees is from Creature Comforts Brewery out there in GA! its super soft and fits relaxed over my DDD+. Its the "Next Level" brand which is lightweight cotton with a perfect non-constricting neckline--not too high

I have had good luck with Lands End, especially the dolman cut cotton styles, U-necks and their Cotton/Modal blends-a little dressier. They wear like iron

It doesn't fit loosely, but I am a big fan of J. Crew's Perfect Fit T because it hides the fluff even when tucked, and the sleeves don't make my arms look fatter.

The linen jersey T which I also have in black with white splatters is too cool for my weather most of the time, so I highly recommend linen Ts for your hot, humid days.

I like J.Jill tee on you - nice drape. I also find Madewell tee very attractive in that saturated color ( little pocket isn't that much visible for me ).
I have some Old Navy tees from last year and before and so far happy with them ( wash well and very comfy ). So Old Navy drape tee could be a solid choice too.
All your pictures were so pretty - fun hair and great smile!

The results! No. 1 is a J. Jill Easy Tee. This was my favorite because it’s comfy, 100% cotton, and has what I think is the most flattering sleeve for me. Maybe a little long. No. 2 is the Everlane Box Tee. Very well made, but I returned because the body and sleeves are too short and the neckline too high. No. 3 is the Madewell Whisper Cotton tee. It’s the most comfy of the bunch. The body fits well, but the sleeves aren’t all that flattering and boob pockets are not my friend. It probably won’t be durable, but it feels delicious on. No. 4 is Old Navy Split-Neck Slub tee. Also very comfy but maybe too loose-fitting and probably won’t last. No. 5 is Uniqlo Drape Crew-Neck tee. I thought this one was the most flattering, but it has too much polyester for really hot days. All this has taught me the importance of the right sleeve - my HEWI is the diagonal sleeve Angie once wrote a great piece on. Length is hard to get right, too; I teeter on the edge of being petite at 5’4”. Thanks for playing. Which one is your favorite?

Wow, thanks for all the brilliant suggestions! I have ordered some Uniqlo and Old Navy tees and am looking hard at the J. Jill twist-sleeve one as well as the Madewell pocket tee. I love the feel of the super-light cotton ones, but with 3 cats I’ll have holes within minutes. I’ll report back when the packages arrived. I knew you guys would come through!

J. Jill is not usually my style, but I also desperately needed lightweight summer tees, so I decided to try their linen/rayon blends. So far, I love them! They drape well over a large bust, are relaxed in fit, very breathable, and seem to be better quality than other linen tees I've tried. Maybe it's the rayon in the blend that makes the difference. I air-dry them after washing in a mesh bag on the delicate cycle.

I own these:

https://www.jjill.com/product/.....-190511s-1
https://www.jjill.com/product/.....ew-neck-te

This is my current favorite basic white tee, it’s lightweight and semi transparent, so i do have to wear the right bra, but the vneck is just right my 2nd favorite is this basic one from target, heavier than the Velvet on, but still lightweight, and you can’t bet the price.

Another vote for the Madewell and JCrew tees. They are my go-to for colored tees and wash/wear nicely without fading. For basic white tee, I like them to be relaxed fit (not sloppy, but not hugging), not see-thru, but not thick. For that I like the Jockey Generation "stay new" men's tee. They wear like iron, are not heavyweight, but not thin enough to see your bra under it. Love them.

I have a house on the coast in NC, where it is relentlessly hot and humid, and I agree with Joy that cotton can often be too damp in that kind of climate. I really like Uniqlo’s 100% rayon sleeveless blouses, which are extremely lightweight, don’t wrinkle, wear like iron, and launder beautifully. Cheap as chips, too.

This may sound crazy, but I really like the Old Navy relaxed tees. They are very soft and lightweight, yet they are not see-through. However, I must say that I haven't gotten any white Ts. I always get compliments when I wear them. Early in the season, they had a lot of pretty graphics. My one caveat for you is that I'm not a 34D, so I'm not sure how they might work for you. They are shaped, but since they are relaxed, they are not tight. Also, they have a gently scooped neck that is very comfortable and attractive without coming too low. I work with special education students and do a lot of bending, so I always have to wear something underneath lower cut shirts which defeats the purpose of a cool t-shirt. These do not have that problem but still look very feminine.

My favorite so far are the J. Crew ones. I have a crewneck and a V-neck. They are really lightweight. They are somewhat delicate, so you might get just one season out of them. They're not too pricey if you get them on sale.

I see that J. Crew also has some linen-blend ones. Those might be even better for the heat.

Eddie Bauer's "favorite" tees are really good. They're shaped without being too fitted, and are quite sturdy. I buy a stack of them every few years.

Massimo Dutti linen t-shirts are good, Banana Republic’s quality is OK. You can get them on sale.

My favorite of the last couple years is from Madewell. I have the V-neck pocket tee in several colors — it’s lightweight, flattering, and they have held up well to wear and laundering (I dry them a little in the dryer and then hang the rest of the way dry, which helps them last longer).

Georgia summers sound hot and humid. I would avoid polyester,, and knits in general as they seem heavier than woven fabrics. For me polyester does not breathe and picks up sweaty odors, Cotton feels wet. I would look for nylon or linen or silk woven. A blend with nylon adds strength. Get a bit oversized fit to be more breezy. I would skip tees and go for tanks or something sleeveless as they feel cooler. Maybe a tank with a ruffle grown-on sleeve to cover the top of the shoulder. If they seem delicate, wash them in a lingerie bag in the washer and hang to dry.

I'm wearing lots of t-shirts while working (and cooking and cleaning and working out) at home, and have worn through my collection. I'm having a devil of a time finding short-sleeve tees that are light enough for Georgia summers but don't look sloppy (and can stand up to all the aforementioned activities). My fave long-sleeved ones are Voops from Boden, which are soft, sturdy, and lovely. But their short-sleeved ones seem too fitted and high-necked to flatter my 34D figure. What are your summer go-tos? Bonus points if they aren't terribly pricey, since I seem to be hard on them.
