Thank you for starting this thread. I don't wear many tees but want quality when I do, something that won't get stretched out and is heavy enough to skim the body, not cling. Unfortunately quality of brands I used to buy is now really low. I'm also hard to fit as most brands that are good otherwise are designed to fit a more buxom figure, Caslon and Lands End among them. My favorite tee is a very old Gap.

I like the Land's End pima cotton ones... lots of great colours and stripes! I also have some from Joe Fresh that have lasted and lasted and were reasonably-priced. I wash in cold and hang to dry!

You should check out Boden. They have a ton of styles and colors and their tshirt knit is very soft and wears well. They have 30% off with F/S and free returns right now

code is 2H7M, supposedly good through Feb 7

Another vote for Caslon. The sleeves are long enough and it is really soft. It feels wonderful against the skin.

I've had remarkably good luck with Old Navy's perfect tees. I generally wear petites, but usually buy them in regular for extra length. Inexpensive, easy care, and not too thin.

I like the Everlane and Uniqlo tees. I have short sleeve of both but I don't have any long sleeve. I do think they are both cut not too loose, not too tight, and both have done well with washing and drying.

I like H&M scoop neck pima cotton. They are 100% cotton so I buy them a size up. They wash/dry well. If you line dry, you could probably buy your regular size.

It's also worth checking BR to see if they have the thicker cotton ones. I have three from last year and the long sleeves are a good length.

I love the Uniqlo one below...I wear the vneck, but it also comes in a crewneck. really soft, with a great drape. I find that these are dressy enough that I can wear them to work without feeling like i'm in a "tee shirt", but they work really well on weekends with jeans and sneakers. and they wash really well.. in fact, I have it on my Feb shopping list to add a couple more colors to wear for spring.

I really like Gap longsleeve crewneck tees, because the crewneck is cut slightly lower so it shows just a touch of collarbone and is more flattering (imho). They also wash really well!

It's not something I have a lot of nor wear very much but I am pleased with the two Kit & Ace (there's THAT name again) t's I do have. Gorgeous knit, lightweight without being tissue thin. And I'm the bad person who throws everything in the dryer. You guys hang t-shirts and jeans to dry? Geez - I have no room for stuff hanging all over the place.

Thanks Staysfit. I don't dry my jeans or hand washables but I would hate to start hanging everything. Just too much bother (I'm a little lazy I guess). Thanks for this endorsement. Splendid is reasonable too.

I have splendid tanks and love them. If the long sleeve top is like them I would say I would pick that over the JCrew which I also own. Mine shrank. They also faded quickly. The splendid feels soft and washes well. I put mine in the dryer.

I have 2 J Crew long sleeved T shirts. I am not sure of the style but they are similar to the one you have posted. One is golden yellow and one is olive green. At first I was not crazy about them but after 2.5 years I have been impressed with them. They wear really well and wash well. I never put them in the dryer. I travel a lot ( months at a time) and I take these Ts with me. They look great.
I have 1 Sarah Pacini long sleeved T shirt. It is another shade of olive green. Probably made of modal. Slinky fabric. I love this T shirt. I would buy one in another colour if it came in a colour I wore. They are very expensive (approx. $175) but worth it. Sarah Pacini has a number of styles of T shirts on the websites. Canadians can not order from the website. We have to go to the store (Montreal, Toronto). I always take this T shirt with me when I travel. Washes well. Never put in dryer. I don't put anything in the dryer.
The rest of my T shirts are ancient. Not sure they even make the style anymore. 3 Dots use to make great T shirts but I can't find them now. Same with Splendid.

I need to pick up a couple of l/s tees for layering and for wearing with jeans, under jackets. Here are my criteria:

- Must have long arms that will not shrink up in the wash
- No v-necks; only crew, scoop, or henley
- Not linen or thin, drapey cotton: need to keep their shape and not get too slouchy
- Not boxy, prefer a longer/leaner cut

Here are a couple I found, but I'd love to know what brands you rely on.
