It's amazing how much more I can accomplish when I feel good about myself. The way I interact with people has been greatly affected by this...and since my interactions with people are more positive, I'm gaining more knowledge from the people around me. It's hard to explain, but things like having the confidence to ask for a raise (and receiving it), and stand firm with the doctors I'm dealing with for my dad, and getting him the care and attention everyone deserves. I'm so glad I'm not taking style tips from Stacy and Clinton anymore. Much as I love those two, their tips really don't work for real people, and often don't embrace trends and unique styles. The same thing happened to me, I had SO many blouses that had little puff cap sleeves and no waist definition and capris that were the wrong length, etc. Things that just didn't work for my body type. I had to get rid of almost everything and I thought, "This is so nuts! I have no clothes left!" And my husband was not happy about it either, because he knew I'd have to buy almost all new clothes. He's been really pleased with the results, though, as I'm sure yours is. I'm so glad I did it. I have no doubt that if it wasn't YLF, this wouldn't have happened.</p> <p>I was visiting my mom, and two of my sisters were there at the same time. My sister Linda kept staring at me. At first I thought she was staring at my necklace. Then I noticed my other sister, Micki, was staring at me too. I was getting a little paranoid. Then both my sisters asked me if I lost weight. Then they asked me what the hell I was doing to be looking so great! They practically cornered me, asking me what diet I was following, what kind of exercise I was doing, what kind of makeup I was wearing! It was crazy! I told them that it was the YLF blog/forum. I told them about my cardi trick (I was wearing one today, with walking shorts), and about how I had mom shorten all my capri pants to walking shorts. (Which I've been living in, and feeling fab in.) </p> <p>Let me tell you...I left there feeling like a million bucks! My husband even commented on it..he said "So, how's your ego?" I can't even begin to explain what a dramatic difference YLF has made in my life. And I have to be completely honest. I almost bailed on the whole process about a month ago because I felt overwhelmed with everything that I was doing wrong. How on earth could I get rid of so many items in my closet that didn't look good on me? I'd have nothing to wear! It seemed like Ana, Tanya, Maya, Shiny etc...just had the knack to dress so well. I didn't think I had it in me. But by then I was addicted to the site. The turning point for me was taking the photos. (even though my husband teased me at first). Being able to see myself as others see me really clarified the whole thing. I have a lot more room in my closet, but I have a lot more to wear!</p> <p>So, thank you all for being part of YLF. Thank you Angie for providing this awesome gift to me and others like me. I am a happier person because of YLF and all it's wonderful members! </p>
