I've only ordered from Yoox once, but it was a good experience. I ended up with a pair of shoes that were difficult to find here in the US, and the price was fantastic.

I've only ordered from them once: a pair of light colored jeans in a funky wash. The brand was an Italian brand I'd never heard of. Loved the design and the way they fit. YOOX is a fun site to explore but as the others say, difficult to navigate.

I have only ordered from Yoox once that I remember (good experience) but it is a great resource for checking less well known European labels, and getting a sense of the general price and aesthetic.

Thanks all for sharing experiences!
Sounds like it could be a tough way to do random exploring. Wonder if I got more savvy about a few brands or makers, then I might be able to search. Time sinkholes I don't need, but it would be nice to have some "discoveries" each year.

I like Yoox but, as everyone has said, their product information is poor and the searching the site is hard. You have to be prepared to spend quite a bit of time browsing, and that is not always possible. But I have got some really good bargains over the years. For me, shipping has always been fast - 3 to 4 days tops.

Greyscale on "YOOX?"

I've had some great luck with Yoox. Their shipping and returns are very easy, if not always fast.

Like everyone said, the descriptions don't have the usual details provided by the manufacturer. So, for instance: I was looking for Frye "engineer 8r" boots. Every other store has them by that name, but on Yoox I scrolled through all black Frye boots until one caught my eye as possibly that model, and then I looked at the photos carefully to make sure it was the one I wanted and not other very similar models. But their site makes it very easy to narrow down by size, color, designer, and some other features (jeans rise, etc).

So, even though it's like the Outnet in that it has a lot of previous-season designer wear at great prices, it can be hard to stalk an exact item.

I sort of like exhaustively searching every single option, but it's definitely not everyone's idea of fun.

I love Yoox and my stuff arrives in 3 days (an anomaly!). I find searching the site to be insanely difficult and overwhelming though. Just got my silver boots!

I like yoox and have gotten some great stuff from them over the years. They have a ton of stock and lots of European brands that are hard to find stateside. And if you are lucky some things are great deals. That said, a few warnings:
--it's a huge time suck! Their search functionality is laughable and stuff is organized in really weird categories sometimes, so you pretty much just have to browse without much direction.
--As Angie mentioned, their descriptions are really lacking, plus they often photograph items on models that are clearly the wrong size. (So, a pair of jeans could look like baggy BFs but are really skinnies in the appropriate size.). You just have to be willing to gamble a bit and be aware that there's a good chance you'll have to return (but returns are easy and reasonable).
--Some items are really limited quantities so you can't sit on them for too long.
-pricing is all over the place. For a lot of euro brands I think it tends to be discounted but sometimes American brands will cost more than retail here. I've noticed this particularly with premium denim. Although the sales are always good.

The three items I've ordered from YOOX have been keepers. It's a bit of a guessing game as to size, so I've been conservative given many of the offerings are European brands, so order one size up. So far so good. I love the variety! And the Directrice is wonderful. So down to earth and funny, I read her blog just to hang out with her!

Have bought stuff from Yoox over the years - all fabulous. They just take a long time to ship, and the details of the items are often missing on the website. You have to make an informed guess from the photo about how long, wide or high something is.

I've been loving reading some of The Directrice's blog because it's humorous and because she has a more conservative job setting - not the same as mine but still, less casual.
She gets a lot of things from YOOX, which I've never used. But also shows items from brands.
I don't have her " shape," but it would be fun to see if there are some different makers who " get me" for either a workwear essential , like pants or skirts, or a fun accent piece. She talks about a strategy for just trying out a brand or designer by ordering in a few sizes, but still the site, and concept, could be overwhelming! So many choices, and I know so little about the fits, except assume that most don't!
I have resolved to spend time exploring different makers in our main dept store and some boutiques, more relaxed " retail research" from time to time in place of dashing in somewhere after work, and not buying more duplicates of my same brands, in order to " wait" for a new option that provides a real upgrade- not so much " luxury" , but in fit and fabric and versatility, and if it turns out there is a common theme( certain brands) I could watch for sales and/ or have a targeted list.
This is harder to do online!
What is Fabber experience with YOOX or with systematically trying to get out of a limited brand rut and make some discoveries without getting overwhelmed with too much time spent?
