Though I need&nbsp;at least one coat&nbsp;that works for&nbsp;layering over jackets, and it works really well for that.<br />I've worn it a lot this year and it does not look too big <u>at all</u>. I meant that for some items, the boutique pricing is out of my comfort zone for the item, and so I've taken a more relaxed approach about " if it's meant to be" then I will find it at a lower price. Though most don’t fit, don’t work or are too expensive, here and there are nuggets of&nbsp; &nbsp;style and happiness, and usually on sale. </p> <p>&nbsp;&nbsp;The requirement is that the item still has to fit in some useful category of items that I wear regularly (or special-occasion capsule) and has to &nbsp;“go” with &nbsp;&nbsp;things I already&nbsp; have. These are probably the more conservative items in the shop !&nbsp;Still they might be described as “special basics” (there is some descriptor &nbsp;like that used either on YLF or some other blogs).</p> <p>So, here is impulse or serendipity in a YB gray herringbone textured knit swing coat with a bit of mixed media in the shoulder panels. &nbsp;It is lined, so is quite warm for being a knit &nbsp;and is very easy and cozy to wear. I like the fact that &nbsp;&nbsp;the &nbsp;&nbsp;knit material &nbsp;&nbsp;has some structure and defined shoulders. Yes, I do wonder about its longevity or durability of the knit, so time will tell. Also, it&nbsp; &nbsp;is “pear shaped” itself, as opposed to balancing out, but I think that’s okay—it has movement, and then of course, it fits me!</p> <p>Apart from our current record-breaking winter, usually this warm but not super-arctic type of&nbsp;wrap works well for 5 months or so of the year. It is the neutral gray ( conservative/mixable criteria, check !), but has great texture and is scarf-friendly, so can accessorize to be more colorful, wintry or springy, and I can wear it with jeans on weekends or dress it up more for work.</p> <p>What do you think? Is this a good instinct-impulse?</p>
