I have found my own plaid boots to be a complete workhorse going on 8 years...they now need resoling and some fixing if I can find a good cobbler but I love them so much I don't want to give them up!&nbsp;</p> <p>And far from making them only a support act, I have often played up the tartan with other tartan. I love over the top pattern mixes! What might not be super evident is that I am wearing triple or even quadruple tartan in these outfits! In my experience, we size 11 girls will buy a pair of shoes if it fits, and only then ask if we need it/will wear it. One inspiration for this fall is tartan and what I call Modern Outlander: Outlander and Scottish but not costumey. </p> <p>I found these wedge booties in shearling and tartan. I’m willing to gamble on thrift and see what happens. I already own point toe kitten heel boots and slouchy 70s boots. </p> <p>Are the wedge booties too dated? Or are they a great addition for me?? </p>
