Using the weekend to do the last two challenges. Sorry for the afternoon wrinkles.

I don't have a lot of green, so I decided to focus on the white and grey. The white draped cardigan represents the frothy white of the water. The grey shorts stand in for the tall rocks. I did add this multi-toned green and brown necklace and paired it with my long pearl and gold necklace to represent the foliage. Chambray wedge espadrilles repeat the water.

I didn't post an outfit for this picture because I had already exhausted my green repetoire on Tuesday, like Bella. It's interesting that some saw this image as more blue while I see it as very green. Even the mist looks green to me. So either it's my monitor or I'm color blind.

I love the softness of ManidipaM's outfit, the light colors are so striking against your beautiful dark eyes and hair.

Sveta you look so Parisian chic here. Stunning.

Joining JJ's shout out. Manidipa, your comments are so appreciated. I haven't had the time I usually have to give personal attention to each poster (much as I have enjoyed the outfits) and so I am especially appreciative of your careful analysis. So kind of you.

Oh, and the outfit was FAB! Loved the textures and the beautiful feeling of movement in that ensemble.

I just have to give a special shout out to MandipaM who has risen to each day's challenge AND taken special care to comment thoughtfully on each and every outfit. You have expressed thoughts I know I for one haven't had enough time to post so thank you from me and all of us.
Your outfit is great today - such thought put into all the extra elements and I love the top and skirt - so breezy and yet watery looking at the same time.

Only now getting back to see the photos from the second half of yesterday, and it's all so awesome!

Diana, your textures, especially the handmade ones, are absolutely perfect. Fantastic rendition, with the colours spot-on. Love your double-helix bracelet too!

Suz, I can completely understand if it feels like a layer too many for working from home, but I ADORE the daytime sparkle of that top in the shadow of the shirt, and the leafy scarf draped over it! Very imaginative, very apt.

Love the crisp, clean feeling of your outfit today, Sarah --- matches the freshness of the photograph. And the peacock-feather pendant is fascinating in encapsulating both the mist's sparkle and the colours of the image.

GirlX, LOVE your dress and ombre jacket! Perfection for the shading from bright light to dark shadows in the photo.

JJ, love how you reflected the movement with the cascading strings of your necklace! A little liveliness in all that serenity. Picture perfect!

Vicki, you are stunning! You completely capture the mood of understated drama and unfettered exuberance with all those patterns colliding and complementing each other and the metallics.

Fern, I LOVE your grey mist and I adore your 'fern' frock and, especially, your polished leafy rock --- it's a little microcosm of all the elements in the landscape, isn't it?!

Bella, I can't think why you feel apologetic about your formula! Seems to me you add an extra level of difficulty by interpreting within the confines of your signature silhouette! That scarf is a delight.

Aida, once again loving your use of your hair and nails, as well as clever texture play and accessorization (glossy shoes, patterned scarf cascading down, scrunchy grey skinnies). Timeless elements mixed in with playful. Enchanting!

L'Abeille, Moara --- love how you both use a misty scarf and come up with a different twist on it! Moara, you might try tying knots in the scarf, or tying the diagonally opposite corners together to make a circle out of it, then let it drape along both sides of your neck. It often helps a bulkier scarf 'fall' better from the added weight of the knots.

Natalie, as I said on your own thread, you look positively stunning. Those colours are brilliant on you, and the wealth of patterns and textures in your outfit is a joy to behold.

Amy, that's such a great lesson in interpreting beyond the colours alone. You took one element --- the bubbling water over the grey rocks --- and focused on it. And the result is a *sparkling* outfit, even with no metallics or iridescence at all. Very well worked out indeed!

Sveta, that skirt is PERFECT for this, isn't it? feathery, misty, mysterious, dark...

Jenava, beautiful understated take on the inspiration, with a hazy quality to your colours vs the fresh, clean white.

Because I'm a sun-soaked tropical fruit bat (or at least a moon-dazzled barn owl, both species being near neighbours of mine), I got my days backwards!

Matching Mother Nature's personal appearance in my neck of the woods, I ended up with tomorrow outfit on yesterday, and yesterday's worn only today! Hey, it was stormy petrel grey all of yesterday, with red sky at dawn and dusk --- I wanted to curl up in my shell like a turtle myself! Today, the storm's blown over --- everything looks fresh and clean and cool, with misty cobwebs and little runnels and rivulets everywhere. So a very late post for Day 4 from me.

This was my favourite in terms of colour alone; but the hardest to do, because apparently I don't have them in garments that go together! I was quite stumped, until I thought to look in my at-home shelf.
- I pattern-mixed a top and skirt in soft blues and greens to represent the misty flavour of the image
- added a white camisole for a flash of bright white on top
- a cobalt belt for the darker shadows
- a pair of 'rock' bracelets stacked together
- a multistrand bead necklace for the glistening, rippling water and wet rock chips, and I liked that the shell pendant is held in a silver cage whose twirls echo the eddies in the river
- my walking shoes for an outdoorsy vibe, and I'm ready to head out, hair left as wild as the windblown trees.

Bad photos as my photographer's away on assignment And I'm clearly dazed and confused enough to not realize I was shooting against the light with the door open! :-[

Most of my greens are on the blue side (teal-ish) just because this is a very good color for me and it also makes me happy. I also like and wear well a shade of emerald which has some blue in it too - and I wore both those colors today.
I don't have any muted green really aside from one olive dress...I guess I prefer cleaner and brighter ones.

Suz, that's a great observation! I sectioned my green and blue items off in my head at the start of the week, putting my saturated tones aside for Tuesday and muted tones aside for Thursday. That way regardless of what I decided to wear for each of those days they would certainly have a different vibe. Though as you say, many of us don't have a lot of green. Apparently I do, but almost nothing in my favorite shade of it (emerald)!

Suz - I agree. I'd worn my only green item on Tuesday. The funny thing is, if you'd asked me before this challenge, I'd have probably guessed that I have a ton of green things in my closet. I like green but It turns out I only only have the one cardi.

Just popping in again to say WOW! Fab interpretations, one and all.

Bella, the photo read "green" to me, too, but my teal was the closest I had, apart from stuff I had worn on Tuesday. And so....

I was also trying for the same saturation level. I think perhaps others had a similar idea with that. Tuesday's outfit was more "watery" and a bit less intense.

I think quite a number of us felt we wanted to depart from the Tuesday outfit but did not have enough green in our wardrobes to do it. And that is odd, because in my imagination at least, it has been a big few years for greens of various hues.

However...I have also heard it said that many people find green hard to wear. I think since it can be either warm or cool, there SHOULD be a great green for every complexion, (and personally, it is one of my favourite colours). And yet I do not have a lot of green in my wardrobe! And it seems that many others don't, either. Hmmm. Off to ponder.

I am late as usual!
Here is mine interpretation. I went for adjacent green colors to reflect greenery and water in the picture: teal and emerald. I also added a twisted white silk scarf to represent twisting and foamy water. The lacy pattern in the skirt also represents the twirly water.
Everybody did such an amazing job on this picture, so creative!

Wow! You gals are all so amazing!

I found this challenge the hardest of all. I don't have many clothes in soft colors like those in the photo. I'm usually drawn to items with high contrast.

I *really* wanted to wear something in soft shades of green and gray, preferably in chiffon...

However, I made do with what I had and dressed in shades of grey. Perhaps the dots on my homemade top could represent water bubbles. Stretching here...

I wore fishnets to add some texture, because there is a lot of textural interest in this photo.

Bella, thank you so much for organizing this! I'm having a GREAT time, am feeling inspired by everyone's efforts, and don't want it to end

Anthro emerald green blouse to represent the trees (with navy dots to represent the water), WHBM ink blue jacket and Anthro Liquid Acres abstract print skirt to represent the swirling waters and mist, WHBM ink blue bracelet and earrings remind me of water droplets, and Kate Spade grey croc tote to represent the grey rocks. I wanted to wear the blue snakeskin heels but I wasn't sure my feet could handle a full workday in them so I went with the nude pumps instead.

This was my favourite photo. I chose soft tweed pants for the grey of the rocks, and the rough around the edges RATE. Aqua cotton cable sweater for the organic green of the leaves and a twisted white silk scarf for the spray.

Moara (daugher): I wanted to wear blue, even though my mom couldn;t see it in the pic, but the only blue I had was skirts, and it was too cold today (Canada). Instead I wore grey. My scarf is a bit bulky, becasue it;s actually a pareo, I can't figure out how to wear it. Any suggestions?

Lovely outfits everyone! I really enjoyed seeing how everyone uses their personal "mist" colors in their outfits; the shades certainly differ but all capture the spirit of the photo. Girl X your ombre denim jacket is awesome, and Diana your textures are sublime!

Here's my outfit for today! Info on inspiration is over on my separate post for this outfit, found here.

This photograph reads very green on my screen, so I am surprised to see all the teals. :)
This is my outfit today. I don't know why I look so messy in the picture, I really liked this outfit and felt good in it. Also, I apologize for wearing pretty much the same formula everyday (jeans+ blazer or cardi + scarf), but if you could see the state of my apartment now, you'd be surprised I got dressed at all.

Again - so much fun to see all your interpretations.
Here is mine - my green "fern" dress with a long gray linen sweater.
It was so gray and rainy here this morning - less like the inspiration photo, more like sheeting rain. Dark gray tights and gray boots - I might have been able to make other choices if the weather was better!
I added my ocean jasper ring, which is all misty and mysterious like the photo.

I wanted to step up to the challenge for Mr. Dombrovskis, and at first toyed with the idea of wearing a solid olive green satin blouse, but I decided this patterned blouse did more to represent the beautiful, complex image. My skirt plays off of the silvery mist and my metallics showcase the glint from the rocks. So here's my interpretation for today's "Inspired by Nature" scene with a great deal of "pattern-mixing" elements:

Aqua, brown and cream blouse by Mushka by Sienna Rose
Striped metallic BR pencil skirt
Bronze metallic Franco Sarto sling-backs
Fishnets by Oroblu in Sable
Green braided H&M belt
Photo 7 shows some pretty plants at the O.C. Mart Mix, a fantastic place to shop with one-of-a-kind clothing stores, a wine and olive store (for great tastings and appetizers!), coffee/tea bar, etc. It would be an excellent YLF meet-up stop!

These are gorgeous (especially loving Girl X!!)

I wanted more green, but couldn't find any so started with an old JCrew striped button down in greens and blues and whites
I was going to wear Green Halogen skirt, but remembered I haven't had it taken in yet so went for the white linen (Talbot's from consignment) midi
Added Caslon turquoise blazer, navy belt, white watch and back to flats for one more day for my ankle. (They are navy with teal trim and tassels). Added a turquoise chunk waterfall necklace to echo the picture a bit and voila.

Suz, your outfit is fab, but I cannot. stop. staring at that belt! Very fun.

Sarah, I love yours, too - very springy and breezy. Makes me long for the weekend!

GX, dying over that ombre denim jacket! I already have a DIY list a mile long, but an ombre jacket is getting added to the end. The jeans look great - I would have never known they were not part of the initial plan.

It was so cold today I couldn't leave the house in intended outfit, so I threw some jeans on underneath (my battery died after only 1 jeans pic, so I didn't get a chance to take a better one!)

This is really fun to see everyone's outfits given the same inspiration photos. I like your bracelets Diana and Ornella, and Rae your skirt and bag are both just fabulous. Ana, i love the fun skirt and stripes to evoke the movement. MaryK is impressive in her bold bright colors while Diana is just stunning in her muted tone look. Suz i love the daytime sparkle element to evoke the rocks... my goodness, I am sure i have missed someone and i heartily apologize for that. Plan to pop back later as see what other fun looks have rolled in!

ETA: Suz that is so funny, and so true!
