Seriously, I'm not grumpy with anyone.<br /> Unfortunately I didn't find that pop of yellow I was after, but I do like this scarf a lot. It has a little purple and pink in it.<br /> Excuse the lack of makeup, I don't tend to wear a lot if any most days. Today is a swimming day, so no point really.<br /> The outfit minus the jacket could be one of my $15 challenge outfits to be honest, I picked up the t-shirt for $5 new. The scarf is an oldie that I picked up opp shopping ages ago and so are the jeans. All up I think it cost under $10! Basic pieces have really come down in price recently. I'm not expecting them to last forever though. I love that some of these are inspired by the painterly aspects, some by the color, some by the mood. Its been wonderful seeing everyone's interpretations branch further and further over the week, what a fantastic exercise :D</p> <p>Outfit description and interpretation:<br /> I'm wearing a deep purple tee (primary iris color) tucked into olive shorts (flower stalks), which I belted with a mustard skinny belt (secondary iris color). Like Lavinia, Denise and Ornela, the lone white iris really stands out for me so I topped this with my new white blazer. I added gray heels, a long circle-adorned necklace (they remind me of the round flowers in the back), and pyramid stud earrings. Put my dark hair up in a pony tail since there is very little black in the painting, wore bright orangey-coral lip gloss (sort of like the orange flowers in the back), and painted my nails a bright shimmery mustard color (secondary iris color). Outside I added my creamy white bucket bag, and giant sunglasses :)</p> <p>Final thoughts:<br /> This one was tough because I don't have much purple, yellow, or orange in my wardrobe and even less of these colors in warm-weather clothing (later realized I could've painted my nails orange, but oh well). Lots of new things here: my first white blazer (yay), still out of my comfort zone with the short shorts (but I'm warming up to them!), I rarely wear a dark shirt+light topper, and of course this color combo is new to me. Low contrast is addressing different shades of the flowers in the nature. I was inspired by self-portraits where Van Gogh painted himself in a straw hat. So I pulled mine out. The lone white flower in the painting caught my eye next, and this is what I came up with. It actually was a midi, but with two tiers of fabric at the bottom. Since midi skirts are in but not with this type of fabric volume, I took a pair of scissors and cut the second tier off just now.
