(Denise those purple shades are divine on you!)</p> <p>Outfit description and interpretation:<br /> I decided to focus on the stripes/polkadot combo and accent with colors from the painting (red, green, navy, white). I'm wearing a navy/white striped 3/4 sleeve tee (mimicking Dora's striped top) semi-tucked into brick red chino shorts. To this I added a large square silk scarf that's bright red/white polka-dotted and tied loose muffler-style and left hanging long, as well as pearl stud earrings (mimicking Dora's polka dotted bottom) and a navy cuff bracelet. My shoes are olivey-green peep-toe heels (their debut!), and I'm wearing my trusty giant sunglasses and my creamy white bucket bag (studded so more polka-dottyness). I left my dark hair down as Dora's is in the painting, and have coral lip gloss on.</p> <p>Final thoughts:<br /> This painting has a lot of duality, and outfit inspiration-wise this was the same for me: On one side the stripes/dots and on the other the bold color combinations. I had a hard time deciding what to focus on, and then once I had decided I had to change my plan because it's gloriously warm today (OK only 70F but that's awesome). Ultimately I ended up with less literal elements from the painting, encouraged by Bella's outfit from yesterday :)</p> <p>This is a completely different look for me, yet still feels very me and I'm really happy with how it turned out (also WAY out of my comfort zone, those shorts are short!). I'd not have paired heels with these shorts. The color combo of green+red+brick+navy+white is newish, a fun take on tomato+olive. I've never tied a scarf this way for an outfit (super fun!). And I don't think I've semi-tucked sans belt before. For me, Argentina = tango = red. So, the top half of my outfit is a actually more a nod to her as a person.</p> <p>The background of the painting led me to choosing the grey skirt. Then I thought I could add a bit more interest with another hose from my recent holiday.
