I was SO&nbsp;excited to choose my own objects of inspiration- that was the easy part :-)</p> <p><b>The inspiration:</b></p> <p>In early spring, Georgia's dogwood trees explode with white (and sometimes pink)&nbsp;blossoms as if to announce that winter is officially over. Flowering Dogwoods are seemingly everywhere in Georgia. In fact, there is not a single mile along my 12 mile drive to work in which I do not see at least one Dogwood tree.&nbsp;</p> <p>The Concourse at Landmark Center consists of two 34-story office towers that are&nbsp;known locally as the King &amp; Queen towers because of their architectural "crowns." &nbsp;They are among the most recognizable landmarks in the metro area.</p> <p>I grew up inside Atlanta's city limits. After college, I moved just outside of the metro area to start my career. I would often drive back into the city to visit family and friends. As I approached downtown during those trips to the city, the Atlanta skyline always evoked the emotion of being "home."</p> <p><b>Now for the hard part-</b> using just ONE pair of shoes! At first I thought there's no way I can create genuinely inspired outfits around the same pair of shoes, especially when the flowering tree inspires femininity and the sharp lines of the&nbsp;buildings have a more masculine feel. After rereading Angie's blog post on <a rel="nofollow" href="http://youlookfab.com/2014/03/12/footwear-with-rolled-boyfriend-jeans/">footwear for rolled&nbsp;boyfriend jeans</a>, I had a moment of inspiration and settled on a &nbsp;pair of deep blue pointy toe flats with ankle straps.<br />&nbsp;<br /><b>Without further ado, the outfits:</b></p> <p>Pic 1 is a photo of flowering dogwood trees. Words that come to mind are fresh, white, feminine, and delicate. I was inspired to wear my white pencil skirt with a floral chiffon blouse, dainty silver necklace, and silver stud earrings. I added my new pewter clutch to echo the dark grays in the blouse (Pic 2).</p> <p>Pic 3 is a photo of the King &amp; Queen towers. Words that come to mind are masculine, feminine, tailored, and blue. I was inspired to create an outfit for the king and one for the queen. Pic 4 is a white button down with boyfriend jeans and Gap printed tweed moto. Feminine jewelry (big silver hoops and a pretty silver and blue beaded necklace) keep it feeling like me. Pic 5 is a chambray button down with white pencil skirt and Gap printed tweed moto. These two outfits were among my favorites because they're most in line with my personal&nbsp;style rubric. They have something classic, something new (i.e., modern), something girly, and something cool.</p> <p>Pic 6 is a photo of the Atlanta skyline the way I remember it when driving along the interstate. Words that come to mind are straight lines, corporate, gray, and blue. I was inspired to wear my blue and white striped tee with my boyfriend jeans and white blazer. Pic 7 is the outfit without the blazer and Pic 8 is with the blazer. A brilliant woodpecker caught my attention during that last photo. I like the <i>idea</i> of the blazer, but after wearing it today, I'm more certain than ever that it shrunk the last time I had it dry cleaned.
