Cartoon Character</b>.&nbsp; (By the way, when I explained to my befuddled 14-year-old DS that I was creating an avatar, he just stared at me and shook his head.)&nbsp; &nbsp;The first decision was skirt, dress, pants, or jeans?&nbsp; I polled DH, DS, and a few friends, and the unanimous answer was <b>"pants</b>", which&nbsp;I probably wear more than the other three combined.&nbsp; (I work a lot!)&nbsp; As soon as I decided on pants, I knew the color had to be <b>black</b>, as I wear black pants two or three days most weeks.&nbsp; Here's how the rest of the outfit evolved.&nbsp; </p> <p><b>Top</b>--I love <b>color</b>; my wardrobe is full of the jewel tones&nbsp;of my winter palette.&nbsp; This shirt is incredibly <b>comfortable</b>; I feel the drapiness and &nbsp;hi-low hemline flatter my figure; I also love that this shirt has an interesting pattern which is kind of tribal in character.&nbsp; </p> <p><b>Cardigan</b>--I run cold and always bring a cardi along even on hot summer days in case I'm in too-cold air conditioning.&nbsp; I'm posting pics with and without the cardi for my cartoon character.&nbsp; </p> <p><b>Shoes</b>--I would describe my style as<b> classic</b>,&nbsp;<b>feminine</b>, <b>elegant</b>, and <b>comfortable</b>.&nbsp; "Pretty" is a goal and a compliment to me, as I never felt that way as a child.&nbsp; However, along with the pretty, I also want just a wee bit of "<b>edge</b>".&nbsp; After all, I work in an artistic profession and have a second degree in a foreign language.&nbsp; It was love at first try-on with these sandals; they're comfy, which is important as I love to walk,&nbsp;they're stylish, and&nbsp;they have just the right amount of edge for my somewhat conservative Midwest city.&nbsp; I typically keep my toes polished during sandal weather; they're coral in these photos.</p> <p><b>Earrings</b>--I wear <b>earrings </b>or a <b>scarf</b> almost daily.&nbsp; For this outfit, I chose these glassy red pendant-style earrings.&nbsp; </p> <p><b>Bag--</b>This is the first leather bag I've owned, and I love its softness. &nbsp;I'm pleasantly surprised at how well this black bag works with most of my summer wardrobe.&nbsp; </p> <p>So, if we were going to create a cartoon character of me, I think she'd wear black pants, a brightly colored shirt with some sort of detail or pattern, a cardigan or other topper, interesting shoes, earrings, and carry a nice bag.&nbsp;</p> <p>1.&nbsp; </p> <p><b>Part 2:&nbsp; Capsule Wardrobe</b>.&nbsp; I decided to work on what I might wear for musical performances, particularly where I have to wear all-black.&nbsp; I'm not sure why I haven't been more intentional about compiling a capsule for this, and your challenge, E, has made me aware of the need to address this.&nbsp;&nbsp;When performing on organ, I prefer pants to skirts because I can see the pedalboard.&nbsp; But the only black pants I have are the same pair I wear for work.&nbsp;&nbsp;I need to get dressier pants for this capsule.&nbsp; My only black shirts are short-sleeved or sleeveless; I would like to find a black silky long-sleeved blouse for this capsule.&nbsp; Following is a typical look (pic #4).&nbsp; I like the back cut-out detail and tried to show it in the pic.&nbsp;&nbsp;#5 is another typical outfit--nothing to write home about.&nbsp; Mind you, I would wear this in a "background" performance situation, such as accompanying for a choir concert.&nbsp; I do better than this when I'm the featured performer!&nbsp;&nbsp;#6 is what I wore to play for a wedding yesterday. </p> <p>Whew!&nbsp; I almost didn't participate in the challenge chain.&nbsp; I'm blown away by the postings I see on YLF and know I have so much to learn.&nbsp;
