I can sign under your every word about YLF therapy and I truly believe that Angie (and Greg and Rosie and Jasmine :0) is changing this world to the better - one woman at a time.

Sona - this is such a sweet, thoughtful post! Your kind words about Angie and YLF, and your kind words to yourself It has been fun to see your style emerging -- it was there all along and just needed the YLF experience to be recognized and respected.

I'm so very happy for you that this December has been better! Winters can be SO difficult to get through for everyone, add in a 'downward spiral' and it can be truly soul sucking. YLF is effective and practical 'therapy' and it's a great antidote to all those life things (job, family, body) that can drain us.

Are you considering making the trek to Chicago in March? A great chance to meet some of your YLF community in person. . . !!??

Oh Sonal, I'm so glad to hear that you are having a good winter! Seasonal depression is no joke. Come to think of it, this past December was the best I can remember in a very long time too, and I'm sure YLF had a lot to do with it! Thank you for writing this beautiful compelling post. We are so much richer for having gotten to know you.

I had to chuckle when you described your adventures in sauna-like clothing! We have all have little idiosyncrasies that we have to learn to dress around. Without going back to look at your WIW's, there are a few silhouettes that stand out in my mind as being excellent on you. The Gap skinnies and boots with a tunic and open blazer (single-breasted of course) with exotic jewelry AND a dress in a vibrant print (wrap or magic). You are beautiful inside and out and I'm so glad to be a fellow traveller with you on the road to fab style!

Sona, this is such a beautiful and thoughtful piece you have written. It's such a wonderful tribute to Angie, YLF, and the whole community we have built here, and it really makes me happy that we have been able to contribute to your healing process. It should be required reading for all those who wrongly think that style and fashion are shallow and frivolous pursuits.

Thank you ladies.

A YLF "conference" sounds amazing Rae: it would be great to have YLF'ers from
across the globe try to gather in one place: perhaps Seattle or NYC? I think if we planned a year or more in advance people would be able to make plans. We'll have to see what Angie thinks. And I'm sure there is a YLF'er out there that works in the travel industry to get us great travel deals!

Sona, this post has brought such happy tears to my eyes. You are AMAZING in every possible way. Your courageous embrace of your own unique style in the face of some powerful personal demons is an inspiration to us all, and your wonderful WIW posts with their vibrant colours, carefully chosen shapes, and beautiful jewelry are fast becoming favourites with us all. The recent outfit that Jonesy mentioned is a case in point. I love the way you are bringing your cultural heritage to your looks and yet managing to keep it all contemporary and fresh. It's brilliant.

That was a very lovely post. It's wonderful to have a community of people where you can feel you can truly be yourself. We all have body issues to some extent and it is so great to have a place to be supported in dressing and loving the bodies we have right now. I looked at some of your other postings and find your eye for color and pattern very inspiring. I particularly love you in your kurti's. They look fabulous on you!

Sona, I'm so glad to read that this winter has been one free of the deep depression and that YLF has helped to make this so. I do remember you mentioning how hard Decembers have always been for you.
I have found coming here therapeutic as well and have been meaning to put it into a post. Being homebound, first through the injury to my ankle, and then through shipping my car in Aug. in anticipation of a move that has yet to happen, has me alone with my cat and my thoughts for sometimes days on end. The BF works 10 - 12 hour days 6 days a week and the neighbors are all over 70, so not exactly a peer group. This place, and all of you have helped me get through my every day and keep from getting bored and depressed and all that can happen with too much time alone. Thank you all so much!!

Sona, thank you for the beauttiful and beautifully written post - I am sure the sentiments apply to most (if not all!) YLFers. We all have body quirks, and it really does feel amazing to finally work *with* them instead of against them. Personally, I also love feeling welcomed by the group when "real life" can sometimes feel isolating and cold.

Thank you also for your kind spirit, enthusiasm, fashion gusto, and for sharing your fabulous, evolving style with us. I always look forward to seeing your newest color choices, your beautiful blouses and jackets, and of course your jewelry collection, which sets everything off so well.

I hope that you continue on in the forum even though you've now have your style locked down. As you said, it's therapy, and it's friendship! Hopefully we can meet at a grand YLF conference someday.

Sona, this post just ROCKS!!! It is thoughtful and caring people like you that make YLF the wonderful place that it is. I'm so glad for you that this December and winter is unlike your previous ones and that you have found this place to be helpful. I too am learning through YLF and all its wonderful members, to accept a body that is not what I suppose I had hoped it would be - but learning to dress what I have and embracing who I am.

I think you have an amazing sense of style that is uniquely yours and we all look forward to continue seeing you in your beautiful outfits (and occasionally with your adorable children). You have become a much loved member of YLF!

Sona, what a kind and thoughtful post. YLF is a truly special place on the internet and how wonderful that it's been a source of therapy for you. I am truly so so glad to hear it's helped you escape the winter doldrums - cheers to you for having a happy and healthy winter.

Also, I just want to mention that you, in your own turn are becoming a source of style inspiration to others. There is such a marked difference between your early WIWs and later WIWs, if I may say so, there's so much joy radiating from you in the later ones as you obviously feel comfortable and happier in what you're wearing. Your facial expressions say it all.
