Thanks, Smittie!

lozz-oz & Lisa--I do the same. The archive really is a remarkable resource.

Staysfit--Oh, I know! I sprained the top of my other foot last Spring, right before a trip to Barcelona (and those picturesque cobblestoned streets.) It took almost a year to recover fully from that one, so I'm very grateful that the toe turned out to be a quick healer!

Sounds like a delightful outfit. There's so much good information on YLF from over the years, sometimes I read an old article and it feels like new because it's been so long since I've read it.

I can relate to what it's like to have a foot injury. My foot is still problematic from my October 2016 bobble. It sounds like yours is resolving quickly, which is fortunate because gravity and circulation fight against recovery in foot injuries.

I have used the archives to come up with outfit ideas. Sticking with a strict color palette with no black can be a challenge. Angie has a lot of great posts to help with this.

I agree with Bijou - great to have a heads up regarding the fashion trends in Europe + northern hemisphere 6 months in advance for us 'down under'.
I often delve into the archive when pondering looks that I may not normally wear.
The archives are a fabulous resource!

Chris, I loved paper dolls, too! Did you ever draw & cut out your own designs for them? My sisters and I played with them for hours.

Bijou, I always think the same thing when I read YLF posts from OZ: must remember that great outfit when the season changes here!

Right now it's strawberry season, Summer is approaching slowly, and my toe is just fine, so all's right with my little world, thanks.

Angie's ensembles really help me with colour combinations that I may not have tried before and also with the key seasonal updates. I feel that I am very lucky living in Australia, so I can see the trends from the Northern Hemisphere 6 months before they arrive here.

I hope your toe heals rapidly. Dressing from the feet up is very sensible, given your current situation. Your outfit sounds great.

Not sure the archives have "saved the day" for me but I go back through them a lot. I especially love the ensembles. Sometimes I decide I like a certain color and go back through the ensembles for inspiration on how to wear it. I used to adore paper dolls as a kid and the ensembles have a little bit of that feel. If you go to the Pinterest board for all the ensembles it's easy and quick to scroll back in time....

Thanks, friends. My toe feels better every day--ice & arnica ointment have really helped. Joy, Style Fan, and Aquamarine are so right, Angie: your pointers are invaluable. JAileen, I'm embarrassed to admit the extent of my technological ineptitude, but I still haven't figured out how to take a reasonable picture and send it. I do admire & appreciate the photos in everyone's posts here. Maybe someday...

Yes! I can hear Angie in my head often as I debate what to wear. This site is the best!

Our weather is decidedly un-springlike too. I have an event this weekend and cold, wet weather is ruining my planned spring outfit, grrr.

Often I see an Angie ensemble that I want to try but it is the wrong season for the weather we are having. The archive is a source of inspiration later on. Same if I buy a type of piece later on, then come back for styling ideas. I hope your poor toe is back to normal soon. Your boots will help protect it from further damage ( much better than flip-flops)

A friend is having a birthday dinner party tomorrow night. I'd hoped to wear something Spring-y and delicate, but fate and the weather have thwarted that plan. I sprained my big toe a few days ago, and the swelling hasn't gone completely down. Now the weather forecast says it will be in the 40s and rainy for the party. I ransacked my closet (still jammed with stuff for all seasons and in desperate need of a clean-out--next week, I hope) and found an almost forgotten simple black sweater dress with a swing-y shape. One of Angie's Winter posts popped into my head. I looked it up, and realized that it would work: sweater dress, patterned hose, and tall leather boots with chunky heels. My tall boots, a half-size big to accommodate thick socks, feel just right for my poor toe when worn with textured tights. In lieu of a scarf, I'm adding a long gold chain lariat-style necklace tipped with branch coral, and topping off with my slightly glamorous black satin Zara trench. Maybe not the most exciting party outfit I've ever come up with, but comfortable, appropriate, and a huge relief knowing that I won't have to attend in my mesh exercise sneaks! I'm sure I'm not not alone in being saved from a fashion disaster by one of Angie's archived posts. Has it happened to you?
