You have so many options here: Gown, cocktail dress, separates (lovely skirt -- short or long -- or even tuxedo pants with just the right blouse). Have you given consideration to a rental? We have a few places here that specialize in rentals of&nbsp;gorgeous formal wear for ladies. It's called 'Saints and Sinners' and it is a fundraising&nbsp;gala for our local Rep theater. It's my boss (owner of the company) who invited us and I don't want to say no just because I don't have a dress.&nbsp;Plus it should be fun! Fortunately, my husband has a tux so he is good to go. It's so much easier for men!</p> <p>I only have one long gown which I don't want to wear because I didn't love it when I wore it a couple of years ago. I am hoping to go shopping at lunch time today, plus this evening, to see what I can find. I would love to find something in a petite but I am not hopeful about that. Which means probably needing last minute alterations too. I do have several pairs of 'occasion' shoes plus evening bags so I should be ok with accessories.</p> <p>I will be focused on a gown because that seems easiest but do you have any ideas for something other than that?? </p>
