I really enjoyed wearing it yesterday. I got a couple of compliments from strangers on it too, which is always nice. The SA who helped me with some product choices in Ulta was particularly kind — I know they’re in sales so that’s kinda what they do, but still, it’s nice! </p> <p>The belt takes a little getting used to, since almost never belt at the waist anymore — toward the end of the day, I slipped the belt off on the drive home and wore the dress unbelted around the house. I'm actually a big fan of printed dresses for all the reasons DonnaF mentioned, I also find them more forgiving, as the pattern seem to disguise certain body fit issues better than solid colours. It’s a surprise hit! It is patterned and I’m trying to not rely so heavily on patterned dresses, but I really do like the colors and abstract nature of this print. I’m not wild about how so many tiered styles seem to be sticking around, but in this case, the rest of the style is simple enough that I can tolerate the tier. </p> <p>I’m also not crazy about self-belts, or belting in general for the most part, but I added my very old cognac and silver belt to this and think it works well to shape the waist. I had to tuck the end of the belt around because it’s too long otherwise. The dress is also wearable worn loose and unbelted. </p> <p>It’s very well-made! 100% organic cotton, and lined in the skirt. Cool and comfortable. Wearing it today as the temps are now getting up into the 80s.</p> <p>After I took the pic, I noticed the slight gap at the bust — a piece of fashion tape solved that. </p>
