Hello all and thanks for your quick responses! I forgot to enable the Yay/Nay feature, went back and edited it so as to add the feature, but it doesn't work. (Software bug?)

Medusa -- the fit is weird. A little tight around the shoulders and bust, loose around the waist. Made for a rectangle not an hourglass or Y! But, knit is so forgiving so as a layering piece this felt OK.

Anna and Aida -- thanks for that advice on striped tops. I do think I would like one as you describe. I have quite a few striped tops already, 3 grey and white, 1 purple and black, 1 black and blue. There is always room for more. I seem to be like the rest of the world, in love with stripes.

Rae -- I like the v neck and the small stripes too. I'm not really going for a Chanel vibe as much as I just love stripes.

Auburn and Chouette -- I had no idea stripes were everywhere! I live in a remote part of the CA mountains and the best I can do is TJ Maxx or Wal*Mart which are not filled with stripes (yet -- maybe they will be next year!) I am going to LA next week and SF the week after, I can probably find some tops there.

So this one is going back, even though I love the neckline and the small stripes. I do not love the fit or the chest logo.
Denise

I think it's OK, but you could do better. The fit doesn't look that great - it seems to have some weird wrinkling.

I actually like it more than most striped tees. The small stripes chop up the body less to me, and I like the V-neck.

If you're going for a Chanel-esque look, this t-shirt isn't really it... it's more of a preppy, young look, especially with the pinkness and the logo. The top is cute on you, and you can definitely carry it off, but it's not really anything special. I say unless you got an amazing deal on it, return it and keep looking for that perfect striped tee. You'll find it eventually!

Agree with the others...I think striped shirts which feature white as the dominant color don't quite get you the Chanel vibe. And I personally prefer 3/4 length or full length sleeves for this look.
I'd keep looking--I'm seeing stripes EVERYWHERE. Have you tried Old Navy, Ann Taylor, Ann Taylor Loft or J. Crew? Lots of cute options...

I think it's perfect as a layering t. You may want to take a look at Forever 21 though, if you have second thoughts. I was there last Friday with my daughter and couldn't believe what I saw. HALF of the store (and this one was huge) was in stripes. Anything you could think of: t-shirts, blouses, shirts, skirts, dresses, cardis... We didn't have much time, but I made a mental note to go back for some striped tops. I basically never shop there for myself, but am sure to find a striped top of some sort that fulfills my need. With such a choice, it has to be in there somewhere!

I think you should look for one where the stripes are an even ratio, instead of thick white with thin dark. There will certainly be a lot of striped shirts this season, so I would say pass and get a bolder one as Anna said.

I vote yea, but I agree with TG that it is more of a layering tee. How do you see yourself wearing it?

TG said EXACTLY what I thought. It is a basic striped t and meets all the general requirements, but for some reason it doesn't give that Chanel vibe. Maybe because it is so generic - oh, the irony! Could you try styling it more as you would for the Chanel look?

CocoLion, this fulfills the requirement of a striped top, but on its own it doesn't wow me. I guess it depends on what you're looking for. It's cute on you, and it does seem to fit nicely (it's not too tight in the shoulders, is it?), so if you just want a striped top for layering purposes, I say yay. But if you want a striped top to make a statement on its own, I would advise you to keep looking.

I have been looking for a striped top ever since Angie's Chanel GOTG post. I am having a hard time! I've checked Amazon on Nordstrom on-line to no avail.

I found this one at TJ Maxx. It is from Lauren Sport size M. Obviously being from TJ's it was not expensive at all. I am willing to pay more for the right top, but this was all I have found so far.

I am going to reserve comments to see what you think.

Yay -- keep
Nay -- keep looking

EDIT -- I am wearing my new Tsubo wedge sneakers that Angie blogged about a few weeks ago. I like them but they require some breaking in.
