What an ordeal for everyone.&nbsp;</p> <p>Been 2 years since we've seen family so had a Disney cruise planned. We knew it was a risk. We all tested negative when we boarded the ship for a 4-day Caribbean sail followed by 2 days at the parks. Today, back home, got news that 12 yr old tested positive for Covid. (First day of symptoms at home he tested negative.) We feel fine, waiting for tomorrow to home test and decide what next.&nbsp;</p> <p>I was afraid of the airports and planes, where we double masked and tried to distance. We're double-vaxxed and had boosters, but Omicron sneaked up on us. Much appreciated. We have all made it home now, thank goodness. I don't think I have ever been so glad to get home.&nbsp; It is two weeks now since our diagnosis, so&nbsp; hopefully the worst is behind us. My husband went on to develop pneumonia as well, but he is on the mend now.&nbsp; I am still suffering from a lot of fatigue and my sense of taste and smell have not returned as yet. (I live in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia but we are visiting my husband's family in Adelaide, South Aust for Xmas.) I enjoyed packing some funky, colourful and fun summer wardrobe items to bring with us. I had visions of all the wonderful places we would visit and how I would be sporting such&nbsp;<i>fun, cheerful&nbsp;</i>outfits.</p> <p>Well, then we all came to a screaming halt with a very unwelcome diagnosis of COVID-19. That certainly came out of left field, more so because we are all double vaxxed. Also because we all tested negative before hitting the road last Monday for the arduous and grueling 9 hr drive here. My husband was the first one to join the corona party when we all had another test on Tuesday this week. (My daughter and myself tested negative at that point.) By Weds evening I had started to feel unwell, so we dutifully headed off for&nbsp;<i>another&nbsp;</i>test on Thursday morning. (That involved another 2.5hrs in a queue. 2.5hrs of my life I will never get back.) Friday brought the not unexpected news that as well as my husband, that&nbsp; myself, my daughter and my father in law are now all part of the Corona Club. (We are all living in the same house at the moment, so it was going to be nigh on impossible for any of us to miss out on catching it.)</p> <p>Needless to say that corona wasn't on my bucket list for the year, but here we are anyhow. We are all in home quarantine and not sure when the govt when give us clearance to&nbsp; head home. This Xmas will be remembered for some time, but certainly not for the right reasons. So, my lovely cheery outfits have basically come for a ride in the car but didn't get the chance to get out and about. Oh well, we shall all enjoy our freedom when that day arrives. </p>
