I appreciate the comments about the VPL & drape, too - it's always difficult to assess your own behind when taking a photo from the front, haha!

Great. I am late to your thread but preferred XL also. You have to feel comfortable with what you're doing and yay for compliments!

Thanks for the feedback! I think maybe it's the angle of the pictures (difficult to take eye level photos in a small dressing room) but the dress length is actually quite a nice midi length on me.

I appreciate the other Fabbers telling me I should wear shorter skirts for it to look more flattering on me, but I'm honestly not comfortable doing so without tights. Since I plan to wear this mainly as a summer dress, I think I'll stick to this length for now - it's part of my happiness factor, & I already got compliments wearing it today!

I thought what Angie said. Prefer the XL, thought the hem was rather long.

I also prefer the XL. If you do follow Angie's advice you might ask if they hem dresses - they do hem pants for free.

I also prefer the XL in this knit dress. If it is washable, it will probably shrink a little. You could add a belt to shorten it a bit, although having it shortened may be the best tactic. I like your long chain necklace with the dress. You could also use scarves and toppers to change the look if you wanted to.

I tried on this long 'bra dress' from Uniqlo (so called because it comes with chest padding attached - a little strange, but at least it means not having to fiddle with bra straps during sweltering heat)!

It's supposed to be a 'midi length', but I'm not sure whether the extra large or large size fits me better overall. My lumps & bumps are still a little visible, but I thought I'd try something a little more fitted. What do you think?

(Photos are XL first, then #6 as a divider, then L size)
