But I will work on it. Angie--I have not tried a curling iron. Are you talking about one more for body, or for actual curls?  Sharan--thanks. And second for the blow-dry. I probably do need to splurge on a good anti-frizz product--they make a difference for me. Lisa--styling is also not my game! Hope to get better. I was lucky to have natural "big hair" in the 70's. I did not use many products then, but I think that a product I use now might be a good fit. Shea Moisture curl enhancing smoothie. I scrunch it into my hair and it enhances/protects my waves throughout the day. I bought the Aima dryer on Amazon (I doubt the brand makes a difference) and it gives my thinning hair so much more volume and height. Go on with your rock star self! I too have added some face framing layers. I pulled out my ancient large round brush to blow dry them. I have not it used in many years. It works very well but I do have wavy hair that co-operates and holds flicks. In-between blow dries I do occasionally use my straight iron like a curling iron, if they start needing some help. I twirl them around the iron and pull down IYKWIM. It looks great on you! I second Sal's idea of blow-drying the hair upside-down, for a bit, till it's about 3/4 dry. Then turn back right-side up, use your hands to replace anything that's sticking out too much, and let it air-dry the rest of the way. I always use some kind of product before drying, too, to tame frizz. My hair naturally is wavy and wants to flick so I often play to that. I have a cream I use to make it less fluffy and encourage the wave a bit and I blow dry upside down. Then I went to get a haircut.  "I like the wolf cut," I told my hairdresser, "but I'm not sure I would get it right now." "Maybe just a couple of layers," she said. "Not sure," I said. "I already put a couple in," she said. I like it, though it looked better before I walked home and got sweaty. "Farah Fawcett bangs," said my hairdresser, and I have always wanted them. I tried to give the cut more oomph with a teasing comb, dry shampoo, etc. when I got home, but I definitely need to restore the drama of those bangs. If anyone has advice on maintenance of a Debbie Harry/Farah Fawcett-type cut, I'm all ears. I will definitely go bigger, and prefer to look like a 70s rock star over a contemporary modification.
