Does it really matter when you will wear the skirt again? It's from H&M! Not an investment piece :)

If the skirt looks fine from the back - go for it.

Lyn I adore #1 and #11. I think both of these have the right amount of "glitz", are stylish and age appropriate. The lighter colors on top are just so flattering on you.

Wow, lots of opinions, here. I have to study them thoroughly.
Thank Y'all for stopping by, and helping me decide.

Claire, Suz, SaraL-
You are so wise! I'll probably run hot if dancing! So, if the animal jacket has to go off, wich top will be more alluring in a place like that, the graphic tee or the white sparkle?

Claire-
You are so right! If skirted, than will surely wear rather kind of sheers as opaques can be too hot, too. It just happened to wear opaques that day, and taking picties in them without caring about that, too.

Missvee
-That's why I love Y'all, helping me decide!:-) Many competent eyes see better than only mines:-), and surely graphic tee is short sleeved and thin, so may keep me cooler than my elbow length sparkly top...I guess I was worrying about it looking too cheap/too young for my age? Shall I not worry about?

SaraL-
Good point about heel's height, too. Those pumps are my most current ones, and comfy enough for few hours of dancing, but what else can I wear? Knee high boots can be also too warm..

Shannon and Sveta-
-I'm so glad my black ponte skinnies got your votes and passed your standards as am not at all a pants girl, and am allways unsure about wearing them! And special thanx for assuring me about not overdoing with these items, as that would be my very last intention, for sure.

DayVies-
-Hmm, good point about people bumping and spilling:-(. I wasn't in a place like that for a few good years now, and almost forgot about, but it's so real...

ANGIE, special thanx for chimming in!
The skirt in nr. 11 is the one it hasn't followed me home, as I was unsure about that mirror shine on my modest self, but kinda liked it myself, too. I also didn't really understand the point beeing shiny PU only on front, I guess I worried about looking possibly cheap, but the truth is back was a very substantial(thick) ponte knit, and look absolutelly like a normal pencil from the back.
As am rather a skirt girl-and after learning my sequin skirt is not that right here, I would consider buying it if it passed your standards, but would have some questions-if you could help me futrher, please?
-Do you consider the skirt beeing shiny only on front (and not all round) it passes even on my advantage for my age and figure?
-Where can I wear a skirt like that again?
-Couldn't it be replaced for my black leather pencil (absolutely same cut and length, just no pockets, and not that much bling of course, but still some).

Again, thank you very much for your much valued help, my ladies! :-)
(Decisions, decisions....)

I may be on the trouser kik lately because my favorite is #1 - animal rint jacket, sequined top with black trousers. Animal print and sparkle - cannot overdo it for New Year celebration!

#11! That's the outfit I like best on you and for the event - if the skirt looks fab from the back too. H&M can skimp on their fits.

Failing that, #1 is my next favourite.

You did a GREAT job experimenting! Well done

#1 is my absolute favorite. I like the sparkly top with the leopard jacket. I think it's cool, relaxed, and streamlined. The sequin skirt looks nice as well, but it feels more dressed up. All I can think of is people bumping into you and spilling their drink. I always opt for wash n wear when going to the club for this reason. Don't let my neurotic phobia's keep you from wearing any one of these outfits.

I like the graphic tee and leopard print jacket. If you do any dancing, you'll probably get hot and want to take off the jacket. Also, if you dance, you may want to make sure your heels aren't too high. Dancing on NYE sounds fun and I hope you have a good time!

Oooohhh....what fun Lyn! I LOVE the first outfit - the ponte knit pants look so current and modern and will comfortable for dancing; the lurex top is fun and fits great and the animal print tux style jacket is just fab. You can take off the jacket when you get too warm. This is a fantastic, fun and flattering outfit IMO.

So much fun! I am glad you will get to go dancing at a nightclub, and look at these great combinations you've created. Lots to choose from. I love the lurex top on you and think it will work great, if, as claire said, you get hot and need to take your jacket off. I really like #1 and also #10, though I guess that is a lot of shine, so you will have to decide on your comfort level with that. If you are going for dinner ahead of time, maybe the lace dress makes more sense. But any of these would be a winner! You are a smart shopper.

I love the lace dress and also the sparkly top with the leather skirt. I think the black jacket looks best with these. I like the leopard jacket with the graphic tee and sequinned skirt too. You have too many nice options

Lyn, you wild and crazy party animal! Dancing in a night club for New Year's Eve sounds like fun! You'll probably get hot and have to take off your blazer. I really the first outfit and I would have chosen the pants until I saw that the pencil skirt had sparkle (#10). What do you think about some sheer black hose? I love the lurex top. It is so flattering on you! You look wonderful, and it was fun to get a glimpse of your pretty face in those pictures where the flash didn't go off.

It's not that long that I said in Claire's thread that I do really feel like I don't miss anything in my wardrobe and than the next day we had this special invitation, and nothing felt quite appropiate at all.:-(

It seems we will have some fun on NYE. This will be surely something different if we'll go for it. Nightclub dancing! We are all in our mid forties, but nightclub will have lots of younger folks, even if kind of retro- I've heard.

Now, I have tried to figure out what is appropiate and still fun for an event like that. I have plenty of blacks for parties(mostly shift dresses, lace blazers or sparkly cardis and even one sequin skirt) but as said all felt too serious. Plus I was so insipred by Angie's post on her Xmass casual non black attire, that I had to experiment a bit with this for myself, too-so went trying...
(Surelly, I cannot do all whites, metallics and glitzy on my appleish hourglass figure, so kept the experience for the top part only....but also think the whites will catch the party ligths nicely(anybody's experience?)

This is the reason this black and cream(not really bright white-which is more forgiving for my complexion) animal blazer(is this almost a tux cut?) from H@M and a cream sparkly lurex (front only) 3/4 dolman sleeve knitted top(Promod) came home with me, this weekend.

1-9 -I styled these newbies with:
-black ponte skinny pants and black suede chuncky heeled slightly platform pumps
-the sequin skirt I own for a few years now, black opaques, same pumps,
-maybe a simple black blazer instead of the animal one.

Nr. 10-11 - is a shiny PU fronted(only), side pocketed, quite substantial ponte skirt, which I only tried on in the H@M store, and didn't buy as found this combo too over the top for my age, but kinda liked the look, and I may try it with a black leather pencil wich I also own, and has not that much, but similar shine).

12-14-I also bought a young style, simple black silky tee, with a graphic white face on it's front, as it was a bargain, and seemed also good for a dance night out,. Styled it with same items, as listed above.

16-22. This lace dress (H@M, too) with long sleeves, but only lined in the body also followed me home. I liked the color(grey) and simple cut. This is a bit on the shortish side on me, and wouldn't ever considered buying it if not this dance NYE out, for sure. But figured it quite consciously that perhaps the shorter length keeps things a bit on the funny, not that sophisticated side, which can also pass for a nightclub or some next years home dance parties.
Styled it with same items as above.

So, my ladies, what do you think? Which would be the most appropiate outfit for an event like that?
Thanx for your clever comments. I'm not sure will keep all of these items so you can vote keep or return if you want, too.
(Pls. note, I don't want anything sleeveless as my arms are not toned enough, hence the sleeve mania on all my tops:-)).
