In this instance, they can't do anything like let the water out of the dam because the lake is a sink, the end of the line. On the news they said the flooding would get worse as the snow melts (and the snowpack is more than twice as much as normal), and then the water would go down as it evaporated. He was wearing hiking boots, I think. We're having great weather now, but this winter we've had record precipitation. One neighborhood north of town has flooded and because the lake has no output, it's only going to get worse as the snow melts in the mountains. I think the current gov has always had a very traditional, classic type of style so the zip sweater is truly "him" as is a suit.&nbsp;&nbsp; </p> <p>You are right about how a too-early spring messes up fruit crops big time. We have a very small peach crop here in MA (nothing like in Georgia) and last year spring came early, then a freeze in April, and it completely destroyed the local peaches. I am more well prepared than you can probably imagine. I live in a town with no municipal water, we all have our&nbsp;own wells, which require electric pumps. We always have water stored away for power outages. We bought a small generator a few years ago that will keep the fridge/freezer powered plus a few other things if we lose power. The snowblower is fueled and ready to go, shovels ready too.&nbsp;We use a wood stove as part of our normal heat and have plenty of wood&nbsp;so we can cook and have&nbsp;heat if the power goes out&nbsp;and we can't use the&nbsp;oil furnace.&nbsp;Lots of candles and a coleman lantern. He is famous for wearing a <b>wool crewneck sweater&nbsp; </b>for his TV appearances. Business casual did not exist at that time&nbsp;and he had always worn a full suit/tie in public. &nbsp;This was a true monster of a storm that&nbsp;hit NY and NE in Feb of ’78.&nbsp;Predictions were less accurate back then and hundreds of commuters had to abandon cars on major highways as the snow piled up. It became an iconic&nbsp;part of Dukakis’s time as governor that he shut the state down for a week, and made the announcement on TV dressed in a sweater. Sounds kind of silly&nbsp;now but his sweater was a BIG deal.</li> <li><u>Gov Duval Patrick, who&nbsp;served from 2007 to 2015</u>. There were a few big storms while he was gov and&nbsp;his choice was to wear a <b>MEMA fleece vest over a shirt</b>. (MEMA is the state&nbsp;version of FEMA the Federal Emergency Management Agency). </li> <li><u>Gov Charlie Baker </u>who was&nbsp;inaugurated in Jan 2015. Less than three weeks later we got another monster with 3 feet of snow&nbsp;followed by 6 more feet over a period of 6 weeks. This was dubbed the year of snowmageddon. In his first TV appearance about these storms he’s wearing&nbsp;<b>a suit</b>, he was just barely in office and looks a bit shell shocked as does Lt Governor Karen Polito.&nbsp; </li> <li><u>Baker</u> again a few weeks&nbsp;later, he had moved to a <b>half-zip sweater over a shirt</b>, which has become&nbsp;his signature storm look.
