zibbets- thanks! It will be fun; I got roped into a lot of the behind-the-scenes, so I am certainly ready for the fun part! I typically would go with a more form-fitting top as you recommended; I just currently have none in my closet. I have to get on that!
jackiec- you are a big help! You make me feel like I'm not totally in the dredges yet. I have aspired to "forward" since YLF day #1, so huge boost-:)
unfrumped- you also gave me a boost :). Not sure exactly what the bride is going to wear, but she is a cute 20-something and typically wears dresses. Her signature look is the colored crochet/lace sundress- if I am explaining that correctly-so I am going to guess it's along those lines.
textstyle- thanks! I am leaning that way!

This is tough, maybe because all would work. The blush top reads more pretty and has a lovely neckline, and it's what will show more in photos. #5 has a benefit of being always-right black and white, but the black top isn't exactly the black top I'd choose for that skirt--would like a not-tight but closer fitting classic black sweater, maybe. So B&W might make an edgier outfit but needs the right components to be "right" for rehearsal dinner.
What is your sister wearing? As in, is she wearing a white dress (sometimes chosen by bride for rehearsal dinner as well)?

Ok, I thought I'd picked a winner but I just keep going back and forth on this. First of all - what a fantastic skirt!!! Seems you can really play around with it! I love #5 but find that the top reads a bit casual. However, at the same time it reads very fashion-forward to me. Then I also love #3. I love the gold belt & gold sandals. Its reads very pretty yet forward. Could be that I'm in love with that sweater as well. Great shade of blush. And then of course, #1 is great as well. So I suppose I'm really no help at all.

I like 1 and 2, either with the two-tone shoes or the shoes in #5.

You could also consider trying something that fits more closely on top, to balance the volume of the skirt.

I love weddings! Have fun!

Thank you all! Joy, you are right- I think I like # 5 shoes with #1 outfit. Shevia, I do love my gold belt (it was my grandmothers) but I think it gets lost here, unfortunately. Diana- oh those strings! I'm afraid to cut them but I usually try to tie it low so that the shirt is a v-neck and the strings hopefully blend into the shirt. I wonder if tying at the top (as it is probably intended) to make the keyhole would read as dressier... Debating between #1 and #5....hmmm.

I like #5 best. Those are awesome shoes. I do think that the string ties on the top in #5 do make it slightly more casual looking, but it sounds as if that will be OK.

I like the lighter top with the wider belt but think I prefer the darker top with this - I don't think the belt will show though.

Hello all! Have been so busy lately haven't had a chance to respond lately, but I have been lurking. If you all could indulge my last-minute panic and advise if any of the following will work or if I need to call in sick tomorrow and go shopping?

Tomorrow evening is Sis and Bro In Laws rehearsal dinner. It will be held at a winery and wedding is country classy- around here that means you dress up but also are welcome to wear cowboy boots.

I had originally intended to wear maxi dress, but the temperature dropped and even if it hadn't, a maxi feels seasonally confused, if not thermostat wise. (This is what I get for shopping for outfit in July.) Anyway, the following outfits are shopping my very minimal closet (not intentionally, but purging based on quality, fit and wear has left me a bit sparse.)

Without further ado, what I have come up with. I am super rushed this evening, so a bit lazy with photos- underlayer showing- which will not be worn, no proper "support" on top and shoes not totally buckled. Also, no time to crop photos so forgive the chins and background.

Constant: white faux leather skirt
Pics 1-2: wide sparkle black belt and bookending with two toned heels. sweater has a subtle sparkly thread as well.
Pics 3-4: with vintage gold belt and gold sandals.
I like shoes in pic 1-2, belt in 3-4
pics 5-6: last minute attempt with contrasting top. 5 with black belt and 6 with vintge. I like the vintage belt with this, but am afraid it's not really going to show.
I think any shoe could go with any outfit...
Thanks for looking and advising! I'm a bit nervous on this one!
