Thanks all. I made a trip to a store that had my size in stock yesterday. All of the jackets had wrinkles but I found one in better condition than mine so I picked it up. The SA also consulted with the alterations department, they don't iron or steam leather but said that the wrinkles will fall out with wear.

I love everything about this jacket but as anngybe pointed out, all the wrinkles make the quality a bit of a concern.

Beth, I did get the lower price and then picked up a shirt and pair of shoes to celebrate.

I still don't know if leather can be steamed or ironed. If I can find a tailor that specializes in leather I hope to solve the mystery.

Thanx for posting this. Just wanted to ask the same. Can leather or pleather be ironed?

Wrinkles on leather could be for a couple of reasons- maybe it was packaged poorly or it was hung wrong then left for a while like that to cause those wrinkles...or maybe these were natural wrinkles in the leather from which this particular piece was made.
Agree with Beth, return & reorder.
Or if you want to hold on to this specific one, you could try and iron the wrinkles out. I've done it a couple of times using either an old towel (thick cotton) to lay over the part you want to iron and then ironing over it on the low setting (MINUS the steam). You can also do that using brown crafts paper you get at any stationery shop. Just don't use steam from the iron.

I tried this jacket in three different sizes and none had wrinkles. I'd return and reorder. Bonus: it's now on sale for $418, which less than the NAS price.

I'd return. It's either inferior quality leather, or they way it was processed or stretched. Especially that puckering at the hem will most likely not go away,
Given the original price it's overpriced for the quality.
Sorry,

I have one but it came in good condition and it is not time for leather jackets yet so maybe that is why people are not thinking about it?
I have a Hallogen leather skirt with a little bit of flounce at the bottom that I steam on low heat before wearing. It is a pain to do that with the skirt so I wore it less often. I will steam it again before the weather cools down, hopefully that will help.
Another thought is, you can check with cleaners who work with leather garments but I would still check with Nordstrom first.

I know a few others bought this jacket, I'm wondering if their jackets have wrinkles and if they had them steamed or pressed?

I believe it can be steamed in very low heat from the inside of the garment.
Maybe Nordies can do that for you on a complimentary basis, I would ask them.

I have never heard of this as a trend but it looks like the jacket on the model has similar creases on the chest area and sleeves so it might be the nature of the leather used. It is a nice jacket but I'm not sure how I would feel about the wrinkles.

When I received my NAS leather jacket it was very wrinkled and the sleeves were creased. I stuffed the sleeves and hung it up where it would have room to breathe, so the wrinkles would fall out. When I went to try it on with a few sweaters the wrinkles were all still there. I compared it to some of my old leather jackets and they are not wrinkled. On my last trip to the store, I took a peek at the jackets on the rack and they are also wrinkled in random areas. So, I was wondering if perhaps wrinkled leather is an intentional trend I'm not aware of like distressed jeans? If not, can leather can be ironed or steamed?

Pic 1 creased sleeve.
Pic 2 the back hem.
Pic 3 one side of the front.
