A new venture by an acadian chef Luc Doucet. </p> <p>The plate I showed was a crab leg in gelatin, topped with dulse (local seaweed). The 21st century version of those awful 1970s jellied salads? Restaurants in our province opened last week, so DH and I had an excuse to dress up, instead of trying to find fancy food for take-out. I found a recently opened place in the nearby city, that does a "tasting menu". The food was exquisite. As parents of 4 children, we made a tradition of going out for our anniversary to someplace that doesn't have a children's menu (justifying the splurge).</p> <p>What i wore: LBD, its second wear. It's actually a petite but as the style has no waist seam it seems to fit fine. (The sleeves are probably not intended for 3/4 but I prefer this length anyway.) I had planned to wear my multi-lace-up ghillie flats (perhaps a bit dated, or a bit too much) but came across these leopard print flats first and thought they are a bit foxy and a lot comfy, so stuck with them. My usual accessories: glasses, wedding ring and smart watch (forgot to wind my dad's gold watch, it would have been a nice touch). Topper for this chilly spring night was a kneelength black trench coat (last item i thrifted before things closed down.)</p> <p>Hair was a challenge. No recent cut so it has got pretty long and shapeless, which is fine for daily wear of tied back to keep me from touching my face... But that meant it's also frizzy and kinky from braids and ponytails. As well, I have lost handfuls of hair since a febrile bout of influenza in January, so the thickness and body are gone. I gave it a smoothing with the curling iron, which I hope made it presentable. Make-up: my usual eyebrow pencil, my favourite lipstick, and a bit of CC cream.</p> <p>Re: the avatars: I am really enjoying the ongoing conversations about avatars. In the past I have broken down my persona, the Gentlewoman, into Town, Country, and Shore, with possible subdivisions of the Gentleman and the Lady within those. Fabbers have pointed out to me before that what my RATE self considered to be Town was still really Country.</p> <p>So, I submit this outfit as a rare instance of The Gentlewoman, Town: The Lady. (Not sure if I'll do a dEtailed breakdown as some of you have done. I don't NEED it, I already know what I like, but I love the analysis part.) </p>
