Thanks everyone for your feedback!

I do agree with Jane that these patterns would not work with pure silk or cotton. I would probably make these in hand spun cashmere and perhaps 75 % cashmere and 25 % silk.

The designs will not appeal to everyone but I think they can liven up an outfit with the right colour coordinates.

I would wear #'s 3, 4, and 5 if they were in a light wool challis. I tend to wear silk scarves in the spring, cotton or other light material in summer, and wool in autumn/winter. Not a hard and fast rule, but that's typically how it plays out. I could put all three of them into play in my fall wardrobe right now.

I like the first one, but I'm not big on animal prints, trends or no, so I would not wear the others for myself, although there are some great colours involved. If I broke that rule, I would go for #4, because they are more muted and subtle, and because I have my eye open for that particular grouping of colours.

#1 I would wear, because jewel tones are my friends and I would wear it on top of white, black, and/or grey, so the colours would not be excessive. And I like butterflies.

As a general rule, I prefer natural fibres, because of the comfort and breathability. Having said that, I am also super-cheap, and especially if I need a certain colour combination now to work with clothes I have now, I will grab the first candidate I see, so I have something in the short-term, but keep my eyes open for a more worthy replacement for the long-term. I do have some very cheap scarves that have made me very happy nonetheless. But good quality makes me happier, when I can find it at my price point. Hermes is not in my future, I am afraid.

Of course, none of this has anything to do with which ones you should wear. But you asked. ;o)

I wouldn't--not my style, and they make me think of the 80s. I'd have to see them styled with an outfit to decide how I'd feel about them on others.

No. I don't know what it is about scarfs like this, but I would walk on by. Maybe #5. Why? Not sure.

#4 is the one I'd wear. I like deeper, darker colors. It also has a kind of "photoprint" look, which I'm into because I think it's modern and space-agey.

I also like the butterfly print. It's really interesting with movement.

Hello Astrid,

Yes the butterfly print also my favorite. I prefer natural fibres in scarves. I've tried viscose, rayon, polyester but the scarves feel slippery and I can't get them to drape properly.

I would wear all except the first. it is too busy and the others felt calming. I love color but 1-2 at a time, not so many. I think I would prefer them in a light wool, not silk unless it had weight. thin silk doesn't appeal with these patterns. Cotton would not give the same feel as wool and mohair might work on the last one.

I like #1, the others not so much. Not my kind of print, I guess. I would say I prefer natural fibers to synthetics, but it all depends on the quality and blend.

Hello there,

I'd like to know if you would wear these prints for scarves. Why or why not?

Animal and baroque prints are in style this season. Can you see yourself wearing a scarf with this print?
