I think sequins are peaking this season so you should be able to find many options in a broad price range. That said, if you love this one then just get it. The industrial age is indeed a complex thing, and manufacturing really isn't a pretty business. Supply chain is incredibly complex, esp. with transcontinental processing. I will say that I paid more than that for a woven polyester top this summer.....so I wouldn't rule it out just because it is polyester. I agree it's not dirt cheap for polyester material, but I've noticed even "higher" brands use poly and rayon rampantly, so I'm wondering if it's an industry trend since more people are buying these labels and the demand for them has created the need for more accessible materials...? Generally I LOVE Esprit.</p> <p>In any case, while it's not ideal, at least you can easily wash poly and not have serious delicate-care issues as you would with silk. But YMMV! It had moved, and I had to circle the store twice to find it. I also tried on several tops with it in the store. I quite liked this one. It is sequined and feels like silk BUT it is 100% polyester. I thought 60 dollars is quite a lot for a polyester shell, but perhaps that is the price of sequins that wash and don't fall off? I couldn't stomach the price--was it too much or am I off-base? I suppose it is a trend at the moment that natural fibers are used less and less but the prices don't reflect that. </p>
