Of course the dress was designer, and the tulle skirt was custom made for it, so it looked great. Since my sweater dresses are all above the knee which is too short for most occasions to wear, I sat up and paid attention. I wore my grey sweater dress to church recently, layered over a midi trumpet skirt in a tweedy bias plaid with taupe, black and silver tones. I didn't get any comments, but I didn't get any side-eye either. I layered a black shirt under because I need contrast with grey.
