That's a medium heel for me. If it's a thick heel like that, I'd be fine wearing it all day walking all over town.

Anna? I have a deep and abiding personal relationship with that pair of shoes, in the black/nude. I visit them at the shoe store around the block every couple of weeks. I think about them while daydreaming at work. They are unspeakably amazing. Can you please take lots of pictures when they get there and tell me how the sizing runs? I would be eternally grateful.

(That said, 2.75" is right on the border of being a high heel for me. 2-2.5" tends to not really feel high-high, and anything under 2" I can basically treat as a flat for all intents and purposes. And this is coming from someone who tends to max out at 3.75" and really more like 3.5".)

I would consider those shoes practical and sturdy. But it's in the construction and fit. ( and quality of materials). Order them , try them , and make your mind. I don't know about how one should react to medical problems like that. Maybe you can try them but have a pair of flats in back-up?

Cute shoes! I can't wear anything over 2 inches. PERIOD. 1 to 1 1/2 is best, I'm never even tempted. I have bad feet and have wasted too much money on shoes that I thought would work for me and have learned my lesson. I have very strict requirements!

Well, I would say a stacked chunky heel makes it much more manageable, and if it were stiletto I would call it too high. But . . . since your issue is a medical one, and not just ease of walking I'd say it's a high heel. I found 3 months after my ankle sprain that my riding boots, that I would normally consider flat with their 1 1/2" heel, caused pain and swelling in the healing foot

I think "high heel" is a relative term and based on your personal experience. For me it's getting up to the limit, but I would absolutely consider these because of the chunky heel (I've found that for me the chunkiness of the heel makes a bigger difference than the height). Finally, heel is only one factor of foot comfort - the shape and cushioning of the foot bed makes a huge diff as well.

Those look like a great height to me. I always look at the angle... two shoes with the same listed heel height can have a different angle of slope for some reason. Those look like a nice gentle slope and the heel looks very stable.
But, I don't know what is going on with you, so it could be that you need to go no more than an inch or so for a while until you get things squared away.

I guess it's all in the shape of the heel. A larger heel, especially a wedge would be more stable. My DV Pali's are 3" and feel like air, usually 3" heels are high for me.
