I have bought two swim suits and luckily, they both fit! I just read the reviews and kind of guestimated. They were string bikinis so I can always tie to fit!

I have returned countless swimsuits to costco after breaking the ties. I'm in canada, but I can't imagine it makes a difference. If you couldn't try on, no one would ever buy them!

Buy a swimsuit without trying it on? Nope. I don't think that's ever a good idea -- even if you're on the cover of Sports Illustrated.

Now, if you can return it after the package has been opened, then go for it.

I would buy one without trying it on if it were returnable. However, Costco has a great return policy. I'd call and ask to be sure.

Costco is very liberal with their return policy here in Canada. I would not hesitate to remove the ties and try it on. Return it promptly if it doesn't work.

I believe that Costco has a pretty liberal return policy if you have the packaging & receipt...it does not need to be in the packaging, I think. But maybe call to confirm?
I could not buy a bathing suit without trying on.

I bought that same suit, tried it on at home, and returned it. No problems. I just made sure to return that plastic thing with it.
I've got another Miraclesuit coming from BareNecessities. Will return that one too if it doesn't work.
My issues are similar to yours...petite. I wish I knew where to find suits for a short torso.

If returnable, probably. If returnable and from a trusted brand (in terms of fit an sizing), definitely. I have a hard time finding suits that fit, and I know after lots of trial and error that JCrew swim tops and bottoms fit me well, so I use them to replenish. I don't hesitate to try their new styles because they are returnable and usually free shipping and returns on swimwear.

I would definitely need a swimsuit to be returnable if I couldn't try it on before buying. They are tough to fit for me.

Just a comment though on straps...just like other items might need to be tailored for perfect fit, bathing suits can be altered too. I've had straps shortened before. And on a suit where I didn't like the adjustable piece, I had them remove them that.

I'd be sure it's returnable. My new motto is nothing non-returnable over $10. That's the threshold I'm comfortable gambling with without sweating it.
I did buy a Speedo once at Costco, not tried on, but once I was home I could. I promptly returned it. It did not fit at all.

Swimsuit shopping is fraught enough for me to attempt it without being sure I can return something that doesn't work. I would tread carefully.

I did - I bought several Lands End bathing suit pieces. I bought two tops and two bottoms. I haven't decided whether to keep two pieces or all four. I've bought bathing suits from them before, and am able to try them on. And if I want to return them I just take them to Sears.

I would not take the risk of no return.

I would check the return policy before trying it on. If it's not returnable, then that would be a deal-breaker for me. Bathing suits are way too tricky, at least for me, to get right without trying.

I'm having a hard time replacing my swim wear. I prefer one piece which limits my options. Being petite I often find the shoulder straps a bit long, thus the whole suit would sit lower (or pulled down by my wider bottom, lol), results in more cleavage than I want to.

I saw this miracle suit at Costco that looked promising. However, after I take it home, I noticed it is tied to the packaging. Not sure if still returnable if I break the tie to be able to try it on.

Oh wise YLF, would you take the risk of no return & wasted $ and try it or "put it back and onto something better"?
