You can bring a shawl/wrap or shrug--you probably will not need it outdoors, but you will want something for indoors later, as the contrast between the outdoors and indoor a/c can be pretty extreme. New Orleans in spring is already pretty warm and humid compared to the rest of the country. I do think a solid color shawl or topper would be good too. The temps may not drop too much in th evening hours, but if they do, you’ll be glad you brought an extra layer along. What will you wear for shoes? Flats or wedges? Since you’re worried about the pix, wear a long topper in one of the cooler colors in the print and leave just a little narrow opening in front for the formal, posed shots. If it’s too hot for that, you could wear a thin solid-color scarf over your shoulders as a light wrap, letting the ends hang long for similar effect to the topper. For the spontaneous snapshots, your best accessory is a smile.
