It's an extreme change and can really damage your hair if not done correctly. And please do not bleach your eyebrows -- that's rarely a good look on anyone. Your brows help define your eyes, and bleached out I fear they would not stand out from your skin tone enough.  I'll confess that I'm not much of a fan of bleached platinum hair on most darker skin tones. I think it takes a certain personality, attitude and deliberate cut and style to make it work. It's really hard to say without knowing more about you and your style whether I think it would work for you. It won't look natural, but it could be striking. Easy to fry one's hair this way. rabbit on "." https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/would-i-look-okay-with-platinum-blonde-hair#post-1640348 Wed, 06 Apr 2016 17:50:05 +0000 rabbit 1640348@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ What I've noticed with dark haired celebrities that go platinum, is that they do it for a short period of time, and then often go back to their natural color.  I'd imagine the time to maintain (even if money isn't a factor) is probably the deciding factor.   But it's fun to try a lot of different colors, especially when you are young and if your hair grows pretty quickly, and you are okay with going shorter for awhile if it gets damaged.     It's something I'd definitely only do at a pretty good salon though.  I have seen home dye job blondes that didn't really work, and since the process is so intense, there seems to be more danger to your scalp and your hair if there isn't a professional driving.  Also you need to decide how you feel about roots growing in, and if you are happy that there will be a period where they are visible between touch ups.  That will be a more rock n' roll then ethereal look probably. She knows this is her year to experiment and it's just a lot of fun.  I would love other's thoughts on this, but I would imagine platinum hair is like any other accessory or item of clothing. Adding straightening to the mix would imo inflict too much damage. Makeup can always be adjusted to go with the new color. But I would highly recommend a consult at a quality salon that specializes in this. My DD has a friend with darker hair go platinum and it looks great on her. She is a make up artist and adjusted her makeup to work with her new look. My DD is thinking about platinum, but she is a golden blonde anyway and was platinum as a child, so she knows it will work for her. Rainbow hair looks fake and great! It's a fashionable statement.  Fun to go blonde. I like drastic changes. But it will be a maintenance commitment if you don't want your roots to show. One of my DDs went blonde, and it was so much lighter than her natural color that it washed her out. I can't go lighter, either (or darker, for that matter), so I stick as closely to my present natural color as possible. I have read that it's not a good idea to go more than one shade lighter or darker than your natural color. But again, I'm speaking only from personal experience. You may look fabulous as a blonde, and you won't know for sure until you try. It's just hair, and you can always color it again if you find that blonde doesn't really suit you or that you're not happy with it. I see a lot of Asian and African-American bloggers who go platinum, and I think they're stunning. Make sure you find a really good colorist...and then listen to him/her if they make suggestions on tweaking the shade. That second picture makes me think of that gal in Game of Thrones, whose name escapes me. If you are nervous about committing, I would suggest going to a costume shop and trying on a wig as close to the platinum color as you can find. I do this when I want to build a costume from scratch. By 'costume', I mean a theatrical shop, not the $2.99 Party City type of store. Or a wig store. Usually these places will require you to buy one of their wig caps and wear it for the try-on, but that usually only runs $1-2. ETA: yes, the other gals are correct. Blonde gets expensive if your natural color is dark. I used to go strawberry blonde when the grays first started pouring in, and I spent at least $1k yearly.
