@Smittie you mean for the blouse? Yes I'm weighing up whether I want to have to iron such a thick fabric.

For anyone who is interested, my order from Kettlewell of the above items finally arrived a few days ago. Would appreciate any help I can get in choosing what to keep or return!
https://youlookfab.com/welookf.....ewell-tops

@suntiger I know what you mean - I actually bought the striped top in the haul above because I've been searching for warm, autumnal tones in a classic Breton top for ages!

Yes, according to my analysis I'm meant to be a 'deep & warm' autumn, so some autumnal shades aren't dark enough for me & other times winter shades do the trick instead (like the light emerald version of this blouse).

I know that any shade of orange is usually a slam dunk for me though, so it may be safer than bringing the green one into the mix. Too many decisions!

Yes from me! I haven't ordered anything from Kettlewell but am tempted, since often autumn colors aren't available. Some of what they call autumn really isn't though....

@Diana True, I can't tell if that's the sheen of the rayon. Only one way to find out!

@rachylou Surprisingly enough, the original was actually a charity shop find from a cheap brand (Primark). Not sure if holding out for a similarly high low pussybow blouse is sensible (I've yet to see another, even at higher prices!)

@Gigi Hopefully putting two breathable fabrics together will result in a still breathable piece of clothing, rather than cancelling each other out - maths was never my forte! Pussybow blouses were everywhere a few years back, but it's been slim pickings for a while. This one isn't quite as long in the back as my old version, but I think I'll be waiting a while for that style to (ever) come back!

@JenniNZ Yes I'm trying to weigh up the CPW (Cost Per Wear) of the top. I've been without my old version of this top for a while now &, whilst I'm still surviving without it, similar orange blouses I've bought in the meanwhile have never been quite right. So my hesitation isn't helped by the guilt I feel over those 'almost there' purchases.

I think that, despite the slightly shorter back length, the new top has a long enough curved hem to look flattering tucked in or out. I'll have to risk the international delivery fees to be able to try it on before the season continues & it starts selling out - after I get my next pay cheque though, of course! Gulp!

It’s a lot to pay for me- only own one top currently that cost more than that. That’s near $190 in my NZ dollars- rough guide pounds to my dollars is double the pounds. However, I have another top, 100% viscose, which cost $150 and which I really love and have worn 55 times...it’s really what it would be worth to you in terms of how much do you love it, would wear it, how many tops do you have etc etc. Because I have so many tops I am reluctant to spend a lot because of reduced PUPY (to quote Suntiger whose concept of Potential Uses Per Year this is) factor FOR ME with so many to wear.
Having said that- I loved your past blouse in this stunning colour from your old post, you looked wonderful in it, and thus if you will wear this one plenty then it may well be worth it for you and be a compliment magnet! Just be really sure I think.

It should still be breathable, since rayon and viscose are made from wood pulp. I haven't had issues with breathability with these fabrics.

I vote to try it. I don't think there are a ton of these types of blouses around, and it sounds as if this brand is a good one, based on prior comments. If this blouse really does what you need it to, and you wear it a lot, you will be very happy with it, regardless of the price.

To me the quality looks better than the original... but have to say I really like the design of the original. Agree the rubber meets the road in the try-on.

I don't know. In the photos of the pink one on the model, it kind of has a very shiny, plasticky look that I don't like. But that could totally be just the photography. I think you'd have to see it in person to really be able to tell.

@Joy Yes I've been trying to hone my style since I last posted (years ago!) Hmm finicky care may make the top more trouble than it's worth - it's so difficult to pull off 'lazy chic' sometimes.

@Jane I've heard good things about their quality, especially colour consistency (since matching you to your season is their bread & butter, I suppose...) Thanks for confirming!

My experience of Kettlewell is very good - so I would think from a quality perspective it should be good. I’ve not bought one of these blouses though.

It sounds like you know what you want and will wear. Rayon viscose is hard to predict. It may need ironing and dry cleaning may be the way to go with a pricy blouse.

I've been itching to replace my orange pussybow blouse with a less sheer & higher buttoned version (see the once 'wardrobe workhorse' at https://youlookfab.com/welookf.....bow-blouse )

This orange pussybow blouse from Kettlewell in 'fiesta' is a contender: https://www.kettlewellcolours......tie-blouse

At £89, it is steeper than I would usually pay for manmade fabric. But the plus side is that the rayon viscose blend is more machine washable than silk. Possibly still breathable, too? Worth it - or any other possible pitfalls?
