I've done this twice -- bought two different colours of the same pair of shoes -- and it was a good call both times. Mind you, I didn't buy two pairs at the same time. I bought one, wore it for a while, realized how perfect they were for my lifestyle and wardrobe, and bought a second pair in a different colour several months later. I have duplicated two sets of footwear in my wardrobe: a pair of tall boots for winter in both black and brown and a pair of slingback shoes for summer in both black and stone.
