I'd review for yourself what your goal is in SYC and take inventory of your outerwear "capsule." Do you, for example, spend a lot of time in your coats, as more urban dwellers do? Living in the Chicago suburbs, I need the necessary puffer and an excellent "car coat." Still -- I don't walk in my coats very far, unless I'm walking the dog, so I've tried to allocate a little less of my "fashion quotient" to them.
