I am somewhat selfishly posting this so I remember my thought process in more detail!</p> <p>My 2024 word is <b>APPRECIATE</b>. It started out inspired by my desire to be grateful for my incredibly fortunate and blessed life rather than spiralling into worries and anxieties that ultimately don't matter all that much. But there are two other meanings of appreciate that also resonate with me right now and align with certain intentions I have.</p> <p>- <b>appreciate meaning 1</b> - as in gratitude<br />- <b>appreciate meaning 2</b> - to understand the full value or complexity of a thing (as in "appreciating the gravity of a situation") ... this reminds me to be curious about things and people that upset me, to remember that there is probably a lot under the surface that I'm not seeing and to try to honour that, and to stay humble about what I think I know<br />- <b>appreciate meaning 3</b> - to increase in value - this is a reminder in the concept of compounding returns ... every small step in the right direction, towards a more positive habit or mindset, etc. benefits from compounding returns once I am consistent. Baby steps add up and little things count.</p> <p>My colour is <b>navy/inky blue</b>. As I mentioned in the blog comments, this is a colour which is beautiful on it's own but also is an effective backdrop for valuable things (as in the deep blue velvet of a jewel box). Similarly, I want my wardrobe to be aesthetically pleasing to me but primarily to act as a backdrop for the most important things in my life, which are primarily taking care of my family, friends, and health.&nbsp;</p> <p>Also, I'm enjoying it recently, even if just in leggings and sweatshirt form!</p> <p>Inspired by Angie to make my own card as a visual reminder!
