As luck would have it, the Calvins arrived today and *do* fit!! Yippee! They are more of a plunge style but that's fine with me. Now, to someday find a strapless in my size . . . that will be the holy grail lol!!

Fingers crossed big time.

Suz that lingerie shop in Ottawa sells 30B. Next time you're in town you should check it out.

How frustrating that the shop you spent time and money in previously this year got it all wrong.

Thanks for the commisseration ladies! It really is like finding a needle in a haystack if you aren't the standard stocked sizes. Kate, I think perhaps my [ahem] girls are simply not as high on my torso as the average gal. I sometimes find straps too short even though I'm almost petite in other ways. Odd. We really are all built very differently, aren't we?
Suz, thanks for the recommendation - they only go to 30C and wouldn't you know I need a size (or maybe 2?) bigger lol.
I'm not giving up, though!! I can in no way put $2000 on a credit card or start walking to the post office with returns every day so I just have to be patient and slowly comb through my brands and options one by one as I have been. Gets exhausting, though ;)

(Keeping my fingers super extra crossed that the Calvin Klein on the way answers my prayers!)

Mo, just wanted to commiserate a bit with you here. I truly feel your pain!!

Yesterday I went to the bra shop where I spent a small fortune in May. They eyeballed me at 32A, if you recall...but I had come to believe that I would actually do better in a 30B. The woman who had originally fit me took a look and said, "You are 100% right."

Sigh.

She was able to do a little strap magic to the one I was wearing and that will work for the time being. But she suggested I have the ones I've bought taken in. I'll do it, but I resent having paid so much money for something that isn't actually my right size!!!

As for getting one IN my size - HA! Good luck. The only company that seems to make them is Princesse Tam Tam. And they don't have any in stock. They did say they would order some in for me to look at.

Anyway, just wondering - have you tried the Little Bra Company? I have not, partly because for me the duties and taxes would be prohibitive. But maybe they would work for you?

Mo, what a bummer! I'm short waisted and I LOVE my wonderbra ultimate straplesses... I'm wearing one right now! I guess it just goes to show how individualized fit is. One girl's holy grail is another's major disappointment.

Hang in there you will find the right bra! It took putting about $2000 on my credit card for me to finally find a good one (thank goodness the returns made it back safely).

Sorry you're having such a hard time Mo. As Elly has suggested, I've found Fantasie to fit me well, and I'm also petite and short-waisted. I wasn't sure if the brand was available in the US, but apparently it is

Thanks, Elly. I have ordered from herroom off and on over the years. I was blissfully happy with my 34B's and later 32C's when I didn't know much about band fit. Unfortunately those brands I liked often don't make anything in 30 or smaller. I do know my particular fit issues, shallow and wide, yet needing close set cups since I'm almost petite. Hard criteria to meet apparently ;)
It sure would be easier to do in person, that much I can say. thanks :)

EDIT: I have thought of the Freya Deco once or twice but never pulled the trigger. Perhaps that will be my next attempt

Have you dried Fantasie or Freya? Both can be ordered from numerous US sites including Herroom (and I think Bare Necessities) despite being UK sizes. I have two Fantasie coming in the mail tomorrow. Also, remember that UK and Euro bras sometimes still run a bit different even taking the different letter system into account. I have older US 34 D bras that are just a little too small in the cup, but have tried on US 32 DD that are several sizes two small to two sizes too big in the cups. Yet, a UK 30 E or F fits great. If you know how your breast tissue sits (some in the armpits, teardrop shape, full, ect) reading the reviews and recommendations on sites like herroom can really help.

I used to do the cut and sew thing myself... I'd buy those enormous bras at Ross for a few dollars, and just take them in until they mostly fit. A few years ago, I was very lucky to have a boyfriend give me a gift card to NM. The relationship with said guy didn't last, but my tryst with Nancy Meyer is ongoing

Thanks. It seems they have La Perla in my size. One brand I haven't tried - I'm sure because of the over $100 price tags! I may just refine my cut and sew methods with the 32C's - at least I can find them for $20 and just adjust the bands. I'm exhausted by now: Chantelle, Simone Perele, Betsey Johnson, Fayreform, Panache, Wonderbra - 30D and 30DD. None worked Oh, and now I have to walk to the post office for returns in this insane heat - yeah, I'm griping. Fed up about now But thanks for the tip, and understanding

Mo, I understand you're struggle, albeit in a different way. I'm not bordering on petite, but I'm 5'7", very short waisted with an hourglass figure and an *ahem* ample chest. As a 30F I've struggled to find bras for a while. My saving grace was http://www.nancymeyer.com

Yes, they're a bit pricey... But they carry a large selection, with all sorts of sizes. And they're in Seattle, so no crazy international shipping rates :-)

I've order many, many items from them and I've never been disappointed.

I thought I might save someone else the grief of ordering from overseas just to have to send it right back. I finally caved and ordered Wonderbra Ultimate strapless from Figleaves. http://www.figleaves.com/uk/pr.....1%20224531 As an almost petite with a short waist, this feels like it's almost sitting at my waist and the boning along the bottom band flexes away from my sternum rather than laying flush. Not comfortable. And once, again, a bra 'miss' for me. Sigh. Adding it to the long line of brands that haven't worked on me. At this point, my last hope is a Calvin Klein in 30D on it's way in the mail.
