Thanks lisaflex, my neighbor is an esthetician and offers her cold wax to me all the time, because I'm always asking her what I can do. The horrible wax experience I had keeps me from trying any type of wax. I'll consider it after my skin calms down for a while.

I do pluck my stray brows, but what bugs me are the random few darkish hairs on my upper lip. I don't care about the light peach fuzz just the darker few. I tried waxing and that was a disaster, my sensitive skin was angry for quite a while. So, I bleach and hate it. I did recently try to lightly epilate and target just the darker few hairs but my skin didn't like that much either, I still have a rash. Anyone have a better solution for upper lip hair removal on super sensitive skin?

Pregnancy was my downfall. I get super sharp spiky dark hair on my chin and the sides of my lips where it is too painful to pluck. I go at it daily; I swear the little buggers grow a cm overnight!

I was always in awe of anyone who could use a depilatory (Nair, Neet, etc.). The hair on my legs would just laugh at that stuff, but my skin would peel if I used it. Tough hair, sensitive skin -- what a combo! :-D

I have quite a few hairs under my chin, probably more than average for my age but it's so hard to know since everyone removes it. My upper lip, too. The hair is almost transparent, so I used not to mind, but it's gotten thicker in my 30s.

Now I tweeze the chin hair and trim or wax the lip hair. I just started practicing threading on myself but haven't gotten good at it yet. I get fewer ingrown hairs and bumps from that than waxing.

I rarely do anything with my (invisible) eyebrows but they do look better when I get them shaped. I like full eyebrows but mine are sort of poorly defined, so cleaning up the edges makes them look fuller, in a way I like.

Reading these posts is so interesting, and it's starting to boggle my mind a bit about what the annual cost of all this hair removal must be. If you count the cost of waxing, tweezing, threading, laser removal, electrolysis (do they still do that?), and razors, the amount must be truly staggering. It almost makes me want to start a movement where people could volunteer to be hairy for a year, and donate the hair-removal savings to a world hunger project, or some other effort. One year of hairiness could solve a lot of problems!

Then there's the whole hair-replacement industry, but I don't even want to go there right now!

In my late 40's started then very soon stopped waxing my upper lip and side burns. I have very allergic, sensitive face skin and felt like adding wrinkles around my mouth which I do hate even more than the hairs:-). Then tried creams but even the most sensitive waxing creams made me break out around where used so what else to do? I'm helpless:-(((

Interesting thread! Here in India, salon hair removal treatments are inexpensive. 90% of women wax their arms and legs, and almost everyone gets 'threading' for their eyebrows and upper lip. (The aesthetician uses a thread to pluck out all hair from upper lip and chin and gives shape to brows ; removing extras) I know a lot of women who wax the 'peach fuzz' too.

I am naturally less-hairy so don't wax anything. I find it too painful. I chose to shave my legs and arms (once in a while). However, I do get my eyebrows shaped. I don't have any hair on my upper lip as yet. My sister, on the other hand, gets full body waxing once a month.

A really good magnifying mirror is a wonderful thing. I have blonde hair but have always had a soft mustache and stray hairs along the chin line, etc. It's weird that I get a few dark hairs among the blonde. So I tweeze what bothers me and leave the rest. I have to trim my eyebrows regularly even though they aren't thick, they will grow long if I don't.

I think facial hair has a lot to do with genetics. I can go weeks without shaving my legs and the growth is hardly noticeable. All my life my arms have had a very minimal amount of hair on them to the point of needing to look closely to see a hair pattern. But my chin hair can get a little out of hand. I'm 24 and it started showing up around 18. I used to wonder why my mother would pluck her chin so much, and now I'm never without a pair of tweezers. I've only plucked out the chin hairs, which can get painful and may be the reason for chin acne, but I can usually go a month or so, then I need to pluck again. Genetics are a funny thing.

Menopause. The hair on top of your head may thin out but it appears on the face in places it never grew before...first dark and later white. I've had to be vigilant. Leg hair has pretty much stopped. I'm told that hair does not grow where there is poor circulation. Hair on toes is a good sign.

There is nothing quite like seeing yourself in the rear view mirror of your car in sunlight one day and seeing a few rogue dark hairs . Easy, and takes me all of 5 minutes every month or so. I'll go at the fine hair above and around the ends of my eyebrows too every once in awhile .

Oh yeah, I have this. I had semi-unibrow as a kid and learned to pluck my brows when I started high school. I also trim the brow hairs, which grow pretty wild if I don't. I barely pluck eyebrows anymore since the hairs are not growing back at the rate they used to.

I pluck stray darker/coarser hairs whenever I find them and laughed in sympathy with those of you who have been horrified to realize you had been cultivating a long hair -- I have literally run for the tweezers a couple of times, and keep a set in my little necessities pouch in my handbag (I don't know why, maybe harsh outdoor lighting, but I always seem to find these hairs while out in my car).

However I've never embraced the waxing thing. My skin has not reacted well to anything like that in the past, and I'm not starting now. I have the very fine light peach fuzz thing on my face, and it's so hard to define where it begins and ends that I think treating part of it may ultimately end up drawing more attention to it, much like my friend who bleaches above her lip, which ends up making the hairs lighter but they still stand out against her olive skin.

I have had a few long hairs on my chin lately, one was about 2 inches long, I was mortified. But it was under my chin bone so I assume I only know of it, I hope.
I pluck a few strays off my mouth/ chin. I'm in my mid 40's so no menapause yet, not sure if the numbers will increase.

When I was pregnant in my 20's both times I was covered in very fine, very white hair on my neck and sideburns. I left it alone ( I just stopped my stylist from shaving it at the last second, he was scandalized by it) I wonder when my hormones go berserk again if it will reappear.

I wax my eyebrows for vanity purposes but about 6 times a year

I had electrolysis and voila! all that is left is not noticeable at all. I pluck random chin hairs, and I actually shave my face about once a week. I hardly have body hair. I overplucked my brows as a teen, and over the last two years barely pluck save for those strays under the brow and I went from - seriously! - a half brow on my left to a very nice arch now. My hair stylist at a cut yesterday mentioned how great they look. i also use latisse on my lashes, which have really disappeared with age, and they are amazing. a real eye openener if you will.

I used to have hair. Could be age or could be diabetes (which definitely made my hair get curly) or epiladying. Anyways tried doing my eyebrows maybe twice until I realised they weren't growing back. My legs now only grow about five hairs each, which I do remove because that's weird. In my teens/twenties I did have bit of mustache and sideburns, lol... and arm
hair, as well as leg hair and a few hairs on my fingers. I took it all off. I felt like I kinda looked like a teenaged boy trying to grow a beard, scraggly - only not on the chin. Also my hair is black and I was paler when I was younger, so there was a zebra effect. Never took to waxing because it can rip the layers of your skin apart.

Oh, and I used to get like two hairs on my big toes. Also removed. I find it too weird to have just one hair growing out of some body part, lol.

I have the smallest non visable hairs on the sides of my face and upper lip. I tried shaving once, ill never do that again. My skin is too easily irritated. But it was nice while it lasted. My eyebrows are borderline unmanageable at times. I just do what i can to keep it from becoming a unibrow. My hormones are all weird and i feel like i have more hair than most women. I can bearly keep my legs hairless for a whole day. And, i hate to ask this, does anybody else get hairs on their feet/toes? Ive never met any other women with that. And the backs of my hands/fingers too.

Well, I was teased about my unibrow in jr high school. Thus, I began plucking, then my parents caught me and I got in trouble. I kept plucking anyway, just not in a place i could get caught. Eventually the hair stopped growing. Now i have the long hair that grow by the each aide of my lips. I just pluck. Several years ago I found a 2 inch hair growing out of my chin. I was mortified and scolded my husband for not telling me. His excuse was his vision and the inability to see it. Now I check but do not get as upset as I used to. It is only natural and I have bigger issues to worry about like what I will wear tomorrow, lol.

I feel a little 'Goatee' too :)
Since Menopause I have sprouted quite a few dark hairs on my upper lip that are noticeable in my trusty 5x magnified mirror.
But who else will see me 5 times bigger?
DH hasn't commented and I thank Goodness for middle-aged long-sightedness for that.
I tried laser and the lovely young operator kindly said it was good that I was dealing with them before they turned grey :(
Thinking about old-fashioned electrolysis but in the meantime I occasionally use depilation cream, picking a time when only the dog and the fashion delivery guy might catch me with my white mo

I do the usual brow maintenance, but that's about it! I have some fine upper lip hair, but it doesn't bother me too much so I leave it.

I've had my eyelashes dyed and brows groomed by an aesthetician since I was a teen. About 5 years ago, around the time I turned 50, I added upper lip and chin waxing as part of the routine.

I do get a regular bikini wax as well, because I swim year 'round and wear a high cut competition suit.
