The period details and lighting, the costumes and countryside, everything visually draws me in. Mark Ryland played the lead in '12th Night' on Broadway and I was lucky to see it. The authenticity and spare stage really made Shakespeare feel natural. 'Wolf Hall' gives me the same intimate feeling. Love it. Maybe we will catch up online. I think it took me a try or two to get into the book - it's very dense and also dreamlike. I had to set aside time to read to really enter the world she created.<br />Mantel does an odd pronoun thing in Wolf Hall: she can refer to 3 or 4 men in a sentence (or paragraph) but "he" is always Cromwell. <br />I also have enjoyed CJ Sansom's Shardlake series, which are long mystery novels.
