I love the first outfit but I have the same issue as you! I really feel like I'm wearing tights if the tunic is short.

I think the tunic look is so great on you tough. Maybe consider tight black ponte pants with the sweater. Some of them have a little seam/pleat down the front that gives them an additional pant-like feel.

I like both outfits. I can see why the tunic might feel too revealing for work but it would look great with skinny jeans. The dress does look fabulous on you but comfort is key. I never wear dresses for all the reasons you state.

Hi there, well I think you've got a fabulous figure and look great in both outfits! I guess I can see why maybe you found the first one too short and it is important to not feel embarrassed at work, isn't it. I adore the second outfit. How instructive tracking wears is though. I've been tracking since May 2016 and it becomes very clear that my skirts get hardly any wear. There must be some inner feeling you have about that dress that makes you not want to wear it. So then, it just sits there and takes up space. Hmm, may need to reconsider my skirts... Cheers Jenni

Both outfits look excellent on you, but there is no reason to wear things that don't feel like you or that make you uncomfortable in any way. Yes the dress should go and the tunic worn with jeans if that is what makes you forget about them. Great lesson.

I like both versions, the tunic and the dress. I like to wear these combination because I find it much more comfortable than tucking a shirt and wearing a belt.

kellygirl...i will definitely wear this tunic with skinny jeans, and will probably wear it again with the leggings....but not for work...this just showed more of me than i wanted to share with my co-workers.

sterling...i generally don't wear dresses because i find them restricting. you have to sit like a lady, most don't have pockets, and generally they aren't very warm....but for awhile i was convinced that i need a variety of silhouettes. and so when i tried on this dress, and it fit(!) and had long sleeves, i "needed" to own it....the longer i'm part of YLF, the more i realize the fallacy of this....and the only dress i have bought since is a summer maxi with pockets that i wear!

FABULOUS.

You DO look like you're wearing leggings and the tunics are amazing. But if these items "just don't feel right" - LISTEN to those feelings and pass them on.

Good job sticking to your goals.

A picture is worth a thousand words. I can only evaluate my own outfits using pictures. Mirrors just don't work.

I agree with Kellygirl in terms of how it looks. But if you are not wearing it, there is a reason. I support donating it.

I was curious about your comment about not wearing dresses and not sure why you bought it in the first place. That seems a good place to explore wrt future purchases.

I actually love the tunic. That's one of my favorite silhouettes. I think the length is great because it looks like a tunic rather than a too short dress. What about wearing it with skinny jeans instead? The dress is flattering but if it doesn't feel like you... Three times in three years says a lot. I had a some dresses like that too :)

New Years fashion goal --W(ear) M(y) C(lothes)... i.e. Be more mindful about what i wear & document what I wear

picture #1 is what a did not wear. I'll be honest, I've worn this before, but never photographed myself in it. 1st...I'm wearing leggings but wow it doesn't look like it...looks like I'm wearing tights. 2nd I didn't realize how short this tunic was. So....of came the blue tunic sweater and on came the knit dress. I'm not really sure why I bought this dress, as a rule I don't wear dresses. But I've owned this one about 3 years and wore it around 3 times.... but this was the 1st time I'd tried it with leggings. Felt self conscious, but was committed to wearing this.

Lesson 1....a pictures worth a thousand words
Lesson 2... mixing it up can give you new ways to wear your clothes, but generally if you're not wearing something there's a reason. This dress just doesn't feel like me, and it's time to let it go.

As always all thoughts/ comments are welcome
