Positive update from me here - I am near goal, just one pound away. How I lost the weight is not so great: I simply lost my appetite while in my funk, and without trying, the weight just started slipping off. I'm down 5 lbs since my last check in.

Not the best way to lose weight, I know, and I certainly don't recommend! We'll see if the weight loss sticks - I'm determined to make it so. Have been exercising (jogging or walking). And although my mood has improved a lot, and along with it my appetite, I'm being very, very mindful of portion sizes. It would be very easy to pile it all back again. Lesson learned was that the eyes want more than the stomach really needs, and I realize now that was my big problem. Portion sizes crept up on me over time. What I am eating right now, is the amount I need to eat to keep at my goal.

Also - one word: dairy! When I lost my appetite, I relied on dairy (cheese, yogurt, milk) because it is easiest for me to choke down when I know I need the calories but absolutely nothing appeals. There's something about dairy that seems to keep my appetite in control for hours.

I do feel like I have a whole new wardrobe - lots of things I packed away because they didn't fit quite right, fit again.

I'm still hovering around the same weight. I guess I should consider it a victory since at my goal is so modest anyway but I have to admit I wish it would go a little faster.

Considering what I ate last month though, it's a miracle I'm not right back where I started...

Anyway, with the newly warm weather comes a lot more walking. I walk to one of my internships every day. It takes roughly 40 minutes, so if I do it both ways, it's actually quite a lot of walking. For my other internship I attempted to cut across Central Park and take the train the rest of the way, but it ended up taking forever and I wound up in a completely different spot than expected due to the roundabout, winding roads in the park. I may just walk to a new subway station than I usually take instead. The good news is that I started out on 82nd street and wound up on 59th street, so even though it took a lot longer, it means a lot more calories burned, so I won't feel too bad about indulging in a small cupcake tonight

I don't exactly know how, but I think I've landed solidly in the size 8 region of 8/10. I haven't really tried on any new jeans or trousers but size 8 skirts are fitting me with a little room to spare. This is not huge but a big thing for me! The sad part is that none of my skirts fit me well anymore They hang really low on the hips now.

Oh and Khris, I didn't notice this earlier but the David Kahn's I found at a consignment store? The tag read size 6, LOL. One of the few things that gives me both a butt and a morale boost

Apparently I have not gained any weight for the last week, in spite of slightly heavier meals and some good wine to go with them:) But I've been walkin for an hour almost every day, so that's probably why. I'm also having my period soon, which means I'm going to retain water and feel all bloated - yuck!

I really have to start workin out now, and get that pair of scales. Khris - I totally understand your frustration, you'll just have to keep your spirits up! Also I think maybe your body needs time to adjust itself to it's new weight. Marianna, I can really relate to emotional eating, that has been a problem for years, but don't give up!

I was so excited on Saturday to find my weight down to my all time lowest (not by much, but still)!

Unfortunately that Saturday came before my Easter Sunday's "Katiepea's all-time greatest chocolate and hot-cross buns blow-out extravaganza!" (Oh and Easter Monday - there were leftovers )

I plead the fifth this week. :)

In all honesty, after finding out that I didn't get the job, I spiraled into some wicked emotional eating... and I've been eating way too much allllll week long. I can't even face the scale today. That's how I cope with stress: I eat.

But I'll get back on track this week and hopefully reverse any damage that has been done.

I lost two pounds last week! I worked out extra hard - not missing a single day. I don't put in that much time usually, but I wanted to see how much I could do for a short period of time.
It paid off and I'm so happy.

I had to miss this week's weigh-in. Corey usually tells me the number on the scale, but he had the day off work today and was fast asleep at our usual weigh-in time of 5:30 a.m. Just as well, really; easter with my parents isn't always diet-friendly. We plan to redouble our efforts and get back on track this week and check back in next Monday, and right now I'm feeling quite motivated. If that motivation wanes, however, I'll need to come back here to be set straight! :)
Hag in there, Khris. Lack of scale movement is beyond frustrating, but I'm sure you'll see some results post-period.

Weighing in after a holiday is always hard. I had very little change, but I'm chalking that up to my period. Frustratingly, I don't register a loss for the month or a change in measurements. I'm starting back to the gym for Yoga so that should help some.
How is everyone else doing?
