I thought I was down 6 pounds but it turns out I'm only down 5 pounds, or between 5 and 6 depending on time of day, etc. I'm not disappointed though. Five pounds on me is a lot, and is about halfway to my goal, and most importantly, I didn't *gain* anything.

I think I'll reach my target by summer, just in time to wear all those pretty summer dresses. Overall, I am feeling very positive even though I was a bit frustrated at my measurements. I'm still trying to get an idea on how things like TTOTM affect my weight and size as I have only been doing this since February. It's a slow process but I guess I knew it would be from the start.

Once I reach my goal, I'm thinking of rewarding myself with a big fat splurge item. Maybe that giant polkadot Muse dress? I am obviously going into this assuming I will have a job by then...

Anyway, I don't have anything to add to what has been said, but I agree 200% with Louise. Vani, I'm glad that skirt is fitting you better because you look sensational in it!

When I did slimming world last year one of the most important things she said was tommorrow is another day and a fresh start, if you fall off the wagon get back on track the following day and don't carry the guilt over otherwise it overshadows the new day. I truly believe this x

Michelle and I are on the same wavelength. I didn't step on the scale this morning -- too scared. I got back on track yesterday and will weigh myself next week and see where I am at. I was in California for a couple weeks and whenever I'm around my mom's cooking I seem to lose all motivation. I am back in Chicago now so things should return to normal (ie: no more rich fatty Russian food...)

I actually feel that I'm doing quite good! Since starting to change my diet, and particularly staying off bread, I feel a lot better and my tummy is flatter. I also feel more energetic. Don't quite know about the weight, as I'm having my period, but I actually feel less bloated this time. Over the weekend I ate lots of fresh fish that DH and his brother caught from their boat. Apart from eating some licorice sweets, I pretty much kept my diet even if we were away from home.

From previous experience I know that from the weight I am at right now, progress is just slow. I haven't lost more than 3 pounds the last 2 weeks, but my prized Marc Jacobs skirt fits me quite better now (wearing it today!) and I am just psyched about it!

Like Sarah- this happens to me a lot. When it happens, it's usually mental. You just have to wipe the slate clean mentally, and start a new day. Sometimes that's when I change things up- find new snack or recipes to try, do a different type of exercise for a while, or change my calories. Your goal is totally do-able Michelle- and that's usually where I start. That's where I need to start again today .

Michelle- when I have had a particularly indulgent few days or more, I really concentrate on my water intake. When I focus on drinking my 6-8 glasses of water per day it helps to wash all that junk out of my system and I find it much easier to get back on track.
And to your question if this happens to those who have already made progress, I lost 30 pounds 7 years ago and it is still a daily, weekly, monthly battle to keep my eating in the "good choices" range. Admittedly, I think I have more freedom to indulge now than when I was in the midst of the active weight loss, but I still have to temper my indulgences and weigh in regularly if I want to keep my weight in my happy range.

Michelle, I have set backs all the time. I joke that I've lost 60 pounds so far, and some of them even twice! My progress has very much been a three steps forward, one step back pattern. But I'm still learning, primarily from my own mistakes. It happens.
Well all binge now and again, we all skip workouts every so often. It happens. The numbers will go back up a bit, and we'll feel so down on ourselves.
But something I've learned (that seems so obvious I know) is that the best rememdy for falling down? Getting back up! You CAN lose weight, you already have. So don't let your "failures" keep you down.
The first time I was able to forgive myself and pick back up where I left off was a huge success to me.
Dont' beat yourself up over it, and dont' punish yourself either. Just take it one meal at a time and do what you know you're supposed to. You will see results again!
I'm down 1.6 pounds since last week. Diet is definitely 80% of weight loss.
So here's to another great week for all of us. Don't hold yourself back this week Michelle! Tell your head that your body CAN do it! And prove it to yourself!

Disaster, fiasco and debacle all come to mind. I officially fell off the wagon last week despite good intentions, and now I need to get back on track. The trouble is that now I'm in a discouraged headspace, and I know I'm going to need your help. My goal today is just to eat my point target and account for every mouthful. No extras today at all. Is this a reasonable start? I'm thinking of this just to reassure myself that I can regain control and be accountable.
I really, really don't want to backslide anymore. I slept poorly last night through a combination of poor food choices and guilt over those decisions. Not cool. I want to keep moving forward, and I've either been in stasis or losing ground the past few weeks. Has this happened to you ladies who have already made massive progress?
