Thanks Joy! That helps. I think I'm similar - I go for awhile at the same weight, for what seems like forever, and then occasionally get these drops on the scale. That said though, I know I need to get a bit more serious, back to logging food, tracking stuff and so on.

Meanwhile, I don't know if anyone else feels the same way, but when I do get to my goal, I'm going to end up saying something like, "YLF Got Me To Goal". Better than Biggest Loser, better than umpteen diet books or scientific-sounding exercise plans. If I have to read another diet book, I'll scream! The prospect of a style makeover of sorts is way more fun and appealing to me at this point than sets of abdominal crunches or the zillionth, precisely measured-out tablespoon of salad dressing. This isn't to say that I won't keep doing these things, it's just that YLF is making it FUN to want to continue.

Good-bye Mom jeans and boxy polo shirts. My old XXL fleece jacket can take a hike. No more utilitarian khakis or clunky black 'walking shoes'. No more pale pink or lavender because Mom says they make my eyes look pretty. No more head-to-toe black outfits on a sweltering hot day because it's "slimming". You get the idea.

VC, please don't get discouraged if your weight loss seems like it isn't getting anywhere. You may be one of those (like me) who suddenly drops several pounds after weeks of no progress. It's important not to give up.

I'm not in a place of actively trying to lose weight, just maintain... but I can feel the December 5 slowly creeping on. I need to hurry and get my LBD dress challenge done before it becomes a little sausage casing dress

I'm not thrilled, but I guess it's not too too bad. I lost 2 pounds last week, but then unfortunately 1.6 of them re-appeared overnight (that happens on a certain day of the month!).

Luckily, I've been writing down my weight daily in an old-fashioned paper calendar, and saw that the exact same thing happened last month. 1.6 pounds up, but then it was gone again within a few days - so this is helping me not get too discouraged. I have not 'lost' my 2 pound weight loss for the week, it's just temporarily sidelined due to the usual monthly bloat.

Looking forward to next Monday's weigh-in, and much more determined to really work at it now that lots of people here are really getting into it. I've spent the last few months just sort of coasting along, maintaining, or battling the same 3-4 pounds over and over again, and not really getting anywhere. I want to get somewhere!

That's great Marianna- you're off to a good start. I find that when I pre-track my food I do a lot better. I will put in all of my meals/snacks (I do better with a small snack between meals) into the tracker and make sure the total is in range at the start of the day before I eat anything. I also like to leave a little wiggle room, so I shoot for the low end of my calorie range. Having dinner planned out in advance allows me to do this, and then when it's time to eat I already know what I am having.

Well I don't have a loss to report yet, but I now have my official starting weight. I need to lose 65-70 pounds to be at my ideal weight. Next week I will report my first (hopefully!) loss.

I started tracking my calories yesterday and had a good first day coming in at 1780 calories. Hopefully I can keep it up!

Thanks for starting this thread for us, Khris!

Good Monday Morning!
It's weigh in day. I'm actually up a pound from last week, but since my weight fluctuated wildly all week and I had been up by as much as 4 more pounds higher, it's ok. I am just getting back into tracking my food, and I had a really hard time staying on track. I realized that the cold was undermining my efforts and I have turned the heat up to what I think is unreasonably warm (budget wise), but allows me to be comfortable.
Anyone else want to share?
