Sounds like you ladies are all doing amazngly! Keep up the good work, and just keep talking to each other to blow of the frustration and get support, that really is the key to weight loss!!

I am not technically cleared to work out yet, but I just HAD to get out of bed an move my body this week. I went to the gym 1 day and walked on the treadmill at 2.0 mph for 2 miles. It felt good! I was sore, but just muscle soreness.

I also weighed myself and I am down by 8 lbs since before surgery (4 weeks). It wasn't intetional and it is probably due mostly to not being able to eat for 4 days after surgery and since then I don't eat much since I am so sedentary. But I am hoping I can use that as a place to start and sort of start fresh.

Weight is a funny thing- and so are scales. I can gain/lose 5 pounds in a day or 2-3 pounds overnight. That's why I like weighing daily. I see those fluctuations as a part of the normal cycle, and I get a general idea of where I'm heading.
Ele, Shana, Chelle, and Melllls- don't get too down on yourselves. Changing habits is very difficult at the beginning. Just keep chipping away at new habits, and it will come.
It's great to hear that so many of us are having a good week.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Well done Khris and Marianna.

Maya, I second what Ele said re weight variability, though also point out that the day you mentioned eating what seems to me as hardly anything!

Maya, sometimes it can be like that- scales can't be 100% accurate all the time, and there are SO many variables to you weight at any given time. What you ate that day, how much exercise you got, how much fluids are in you (matters a lot), where you are in your cycle, it's really annoying. My scale is frequently schizo, as well. I suggest weighing yourself only in the morning, on the same day every week, before you've even had a tea. That way, there is less of an opportunity for error.

Ok, so like Maya, I've only just joined in here, at the urging of a couple of you on her thread earlier in the week. I've just weighed myself to see where I am, and it's about 2 or 3 pounds more than I expected, and about 6 or 7 more than where I'd like to be. I think I'll start with the goal of losing 6 pounds, then re-group and see how I feel at that weight. I know it's a small number, but I'm anticipating a lot of difficulty getting there, as my body has been at this weight for a few years now.

I've battling a nasty virus since Monday, and after the first day of having no appetite/no being able to keep things down, I've just been snacking loads. I also haven't been feeling well enough to run or work out, and I just have zero willpower when under the weather. Ok, but that stops now- I'm going to watch my portion sizes and try to reach for fruits and veggies when I get the snacking urge. I have to work this afternoon, so at least I'll be on my feet for 7 hours today, too.

Uh, this is really odd:

Today I weighed myself again (same scale, same location) and it says I am 2.7 pounds less than when I weighed myself just a few days ago! This is in the evening, after I had dinner too. I wasn't expecting any change at all.

How bizarre. I am not on an extreme diet or anything.

I am not doing well. I haven't logged what I've eaten since Monday. And, I'm certain I've gone over my weight loss range every day. Hopefully not too far so it's exceeded my normal range, but still. I know the power in keeping track of my caloric intake. Why am I having such a hard time doing it?

I've been crazy busy this week getting ready my preschooler's basketball tourney, my baby's first birthday party, Valentine preparations for the preschooler, and getting my house in order for the company flying in today. That's on top of my job and internet surfing. LOL I will start running again....hopefully sooner rather than later.

You ladies are always an inspiration! I am trying to get back into my gym routine and have been able to participate in some of my favorite classes without suffering from terrible back pain for the rest of day which is a huge improvement for me. My eating has been haphazard though and I'm trying to incorporate some weekly routines to keep my diet in check (meet-free day, soup day etc). I also want to switch from the 3 main meals to the multiple small meals plan. I just need to plan better. I don't weigh myself every day but I am down a couple of pounds since my high a few weeks ago (though some of that was surely due to bloat anyway). I'm staying away from girl scout cookies this year!

I have eaten well, exercise, I feel my clothes a bit loose already the best will be to replace the spring wardrobe :)
Spring is far away, it has rained a lot and it's boring.. I can't use my new shoes!

Maya, Michelle - it's your birthday, eat whatever you want, go for that second helping you always hesitate to.A third too if you want. For the separate events, eat light the rest of the day and enjoy your birthday meals. If you know you are going to be eating cake at each outing, limit yourself to one modest slice for each of those meals and savour every bite of it. Have a scoop of ice cream too :-)

Don't be stressing about food when you are celebrating you. Just make sure to stop when you are almost full and remember to go right back on plan the day after. Offset your calories by eating mostly plants and grains the rest of the week

I went from an 8.5 shoe size to a 7. Crazy! Apparently it's not abnormal, but I certainly didn't expect that.
I'm steadily losing about half a pound today, but I weighed one pound heavier this morning than I did yesterday. I'm not letting it get to me though, because I know I had a great day. Hopefully it will show up tomorrow.

I'm getting frustrated. I lost a few pounds very quickly but seem to have leveled off very quickly. I feel that my biggest problem is that I eat out socially a lot. BUT I've been stuck at home due to the snowstorm for the past week and have seen no progress. Also because I registered a 2.5 lb gain this morning I immediately stopped off the scale and weighed myself again. And was about a lb lower than the previous read. I weighed myself immediately again and was 2lbs lower again! This was all in a span of 3 minutes so I am very confused and frustrated.

I obviously only began this journey on Tuesday so I'm not too far in. So far I have just been eating less, and staying aware of when I felt full, which seem to go hand in hand. I did have an English muffin with Nutella yesterday for dessert...but I didn't eat much the rest of the day, so it didn't really undo my day. I had oatmeal cereal for breakfast (yes, oatmeal CEREAL...it's so good!). Normally if I get a day off, I'll go the whole hog and make a big awful breakfast with pancakes and other naughtiness. But I felt neither like making it nor like eating it, so cereal was fine. I didn't eat again until dinner, when I took only one plate of curry with a little bit of rice. I just didn't want a second helping. Then I had my Nutella muffin :). And of course lots of tea. It doesn't sound like much but I really wasn't feeling miserable or starving.

Michelle, I know what you mean about the danger zone. That is coming up for me too! I'm having at least 3 different bday events: one with YLF, one with my family, and one with my friends. I have no idea what to do! I wish I could just combine the three.

Khris, I'm so impressed. Congratulations; it must feel so great to have such tangible results of your hard work! I can't wait till I'm in the same boat!

So far so good this week, but now we're heading into the danger zone, i.e. birthday phase. Some friends are taking me out tomorrow, then I'm spending the weekend with my family who have a dinner planned on Saturday (plus guests coming for an unrelated matter tomorrow). Parental weekends have the potential to throw off my program, but I'll try to be at least somewhat strong.

Also envy the shrinking feet thing. I used to be a 9.5 regular and am now a 10W. BOOOO!

I'm doing well too! Still getting over a nasty cold but I think I'll be back to 100% in a couple of days. I tried another pair of "regular" size 16 pants in a store the other day and they fit (The INC 5-pocket ponte pants!) so that makes me happy.

I have a feeling I am going to eat too much on Valentine's Day so I need to be mindful of that!

Other than that, not too much to report! So far so good! Thanks for checking in, Khris!

By the way, shrinking feet?! How do I get on that program?!

LOL! Great going Khris! I feel most pumped when compliments come from DH. It means there's a big enough change for them to notice! I haven't measured myself yet but it feels as I might have lost an inch or so in the hip/tummy area. I had just finally gotten around to taking in the waist of my black pencil skirt and it has gotten a little slippy again. I keep telling myself all that matters is that I regularly workout, push harder every day and eat clean - everything else will follow.

I just thought it would be nice to check in and touch base with everyone.

I'm doing swell. I really need the weather to start warming up before I shrink out of all of my winter clothes, because I am not replacing them. It looks like the weather is going to comply with some warming temps this week. My feet are shrinking again- I tried on a size shoe that I haven't worn since Jr. High and it fit. I also tried some dresses on last night, and was surprised by some of the number that fit. Hubby and I were talking, and he says that I am smaller than when we met (at the age of 20)- and I believe him. He picked me up the other day, so he should know LOL

How is everyone else doing?
