I think mine is a bit older — from the 50s most likely (there is a stamp on the back that says “made in Germany West”). There is a matching set of earrings...somewhere. But they’re clips, which I cannot wear. The first pic is my pin, and the second is a set just like mine with the earrings, that I found on eBay. I’ve since researched it and discovered that it is a piece by Nancy and Rise from the 1980’s described as Moonstone and Aurora Borealis crystals. I suspect it is all synthetics. I just call them ‘rhinestones’. I can sometimes pin it through a top and onto my bra strap, or at my waist through to pants or skirt waistband, ruching the sweater. Funny thing is, I only seem to wear it with light blue garments! I got it originally for a wedding guest outfit that was pale blue and white gingham! A last minute invitation to a holiday open house at the home of one of DH’s golfing buddies resulted in a simple and comfortable outfit jazzed up with a bit of bling. No dress code for this 2 hour (2-4 pm) shin dig. A dozen couples. The men knew each other, and about half the women golf. I knew no one, but fell into easy conversation - and connected with a kindred spirit. One of the women was very interested in my vintage pin! I don't wear it much, because it is very heavy and requires a heavy/stiff fabric or else it drags the garment down.
