I cared a LOT about that when I was younger, especially since I lived in places where highlighting my body drew unwanted attention from men. Now I'm older and less prone to getting unwanted attention, so I want to just wear what I want, as long as it's situation-appropriate and not actively unflattering. I like the JFE concept you all have a round here, and kind of came to that myself before joining the forum. I usually don't like bright/light or patterned pants on me, but these look good from the front (the thighs is usually where bright or patterned doesn't work). The pants are unstructured, which means you can see my wide, low slung butt in all its glory with nothing to kind of hold it in place. My husband thinks it looks good, but he is completely biased in FAVOR of my butt. And who else do I need to impress, really? I'm Portuguese, and can't help the size of my butt, even if I spent the rest of my life on a diet. But I am used to being sucked in more, which makes me feel more secure, or something. I said on another thread that being a pear shape doesn't mean following all the rules, but I guess I'm just unused to drawing quite so much attention to my bottom half. I'm not sure if that is a good or bad mental barrier to have! SO much so that I'm on a semi-shopping freeze now. I had some shoe needs to fill this month, and I wanted fun pants like the orange ones, but I need to just stop. I have no more room, even after culling. I need a new hobby! JenniNZ I bought the red tunic with the idea that I'd mostly not wear it as a cover up, but that it could serve a dual purpose on vacations in particular. I proved myself right at my work retreat, as I wore it both ways. I also keep buying things for an imagined resort vacation my husband doesn't want to take (prefers to explore on his own), but we do go to a family beach house every year. Anyway, I suspect I can wear it over jeans to work like I have here. I like that popover too but always feel awkward tucking things since my waist is short and high. I always pull the tuck out a bit to compensate, but it feels fussy, though I like the effect. 2 & 3 - also work days, with formula of dark bottom, top and topper. 4 was inspired by Angie! I was at a work retreat and it ended up to be too cold to wear what I had planned to wear. But the theme for that night was Caribbean, so I still wanted to get that resort vibe. I put this tunic/bathing suit cover-up over jeans to get that kind over dress or jeans look 5 is a try on picture from Loft. I'm looking for fun summer pants, and these may be the ones (very unsure about the back view, though). I like these a lot and I'm trying to branch out of my comfort zone. 6 was a weekend look on a day that wasn't too warm 7-9 more work looks, with me trying to break out of the defaulting to dark pants or jeans rut (the pants in 9 are a medium blue linen)
